Yeah, with so many Canadians that go to Cancun (based on this forum and based on it being attached by a continent and all ), I'd say it's like saying maybe they don't have someone that speaks Spanish at a place in Orlando. Now...Russian?? Anyone try that yet? Maybe Korean? :aktion025: I may just tell them I work for a timeshare company and didn't want to book using my exchange, in order to avoid questions about the resort from co-workers. Or eff off. Or may still go with the "we're on a 'business trip' and not married" thing. I have 95 days to decide!
If you are using someone's refferal week you should do it as the ppl that gave you the referral days get credit towards their next stay.. dont take the tour.. just sit and listen if thats the case.. otherwise your friends lose their credit. I can handle an hour or 2 for the savings.
Trip 8 in May. Always just say (no thanks) firmly but politely and then just walk on by. Never had a call to the room or a follower. But I do have to admit I saw them being very aggressive last May...perhaps a new sales quota or new sales staff!
I have occasionally started speaking in Polish and pretended to not speak English in situations like this. Or don't make eye contact. Look away and play stupid!! We didn't have any trouble last time, but we arrived late at night. We'll see what happens tomorrow. We also are RCI members already with a Timeshare here -so we were going to try to play that card as well!
Last year when we went which was not our first time at TTR the lady kept trying to get us over to the desk. I was in a bad mood, our flight was delayed I was tired all I wanted was the go to the pool and get a drink.. she wouldnt leave us alone we walked away and to our room. I HATED the room we ended up with, it was infested with bugs and it was one with the window in the bathroom to the toilet and on the end of the resort I had asked not to be on. We went back to the lobby to try and get a different room and the lady kept nagging at us and then finally I flipped out on her and told her I wasnt in the fucking mood for her. Which I later on felt bad about but I just wanted to be left alone at that point lol They really just dont get the point, she asked us EVERYTIME we were in the lobby why we didnt want to talk with her about the premier membership until we finally sat down with her and laid it out on the table why we werent interested.. I guess that's what it took to get her to leave us alone is explaining why we werent interested but really all people want to do when they first get there is get to their room and into the pool as quickly as possible
Last year we got in very late, 8pm and they were closing the buffet, we just wanted food and some drinks and to relax, they let us go with no issues. I dont expect any issues this year but we are in earlier at 5pm or so. Guess we will have to see in a few more sleeps. If they call my room they are in for a surprise, If they come to my door even more so.
If they come to our room, they better not be prudish. Wake us up, or disturb us and you better not be upset by what you see. :aktion069:
They usually just ask us once we've checked in, we politely inform them we've been before and don't need the tour or the sell. In Sept. the lady did try and tell us that there were a lot of changes since the end of April, we said we'd kept up with the new deck and bar and were good and that was it. I know they can be annoying but they are also human and have a shitty job that is probably paid based on quotas.
