I often wondered how "convenient" it was that people magically knew of someone who was from where people lived everytime! LOL
Even when we use a friends referral week, a timeshare agent magically appears behind us after checking in. I look directly at them and wave my finger back n forth as I say No No No No No...the answer is NO! AND DO NOT CALL MY ROOM AT 7:30-8am like last time wondering where we are for the presentation that is ready to start. You MUST make it clear to them NOT to call your room, or you will get a phone call. Btw, if you use some ones referral week, find out before hand if you are obligated to sit through the presentation.
I've never had any issues getting rid of them. Just saying that we've been to the resort multiple times and already had the 'tour' - while not stopping or even slowing our pace has always worked. I say no...break eye contact and never look back or respond. If they call the room, they will get a second 'no thank you'. After that, it's no longer time to be polite.
I'm guessing its a good idea to unplug the phone in the room ? I cant imagine my wife will be too thrilled if the phone rings at 8am from someone we already told no when we likely only went to bed a short time before
A simple no thank you onve or twice never cuts it, even unplugging the phone, the litte fuckers will even come knock at your door claiming to be room service... You need to be very stern with them right from the get go, No Means No, and Fuck off means Fuck off. Nobody knows you and nobody gives a shit!!!! Use it, don't abuse it!
I'm sort of amazed, we actually were directed to the agent by the girl who checked us in, we sat down at her desk asked a few questions, I asked if sells timeshares to which she happily said yes, I smiled & said we really aren't interested & that was it, no pursuit, no unpleasantness & definitely no phone call. I heard all the horror stories but we had nothing like that. No comparison to the sharks in Belize, that's for sure.
We had the same experience as dnlb. I had to turn her down firmly several times, but never any backlash or further issues with my decision. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Since we mainly use the 6 Pm flight out of Atlanta, we don't get to the resort until after 9 PM. I guess all of the timeshare folks get off work before that. Only time, we had a problem is when we arrived on a Saturday at 2 PM. We kept telling the gal "No, Thanks", but she was very pushy. Must have came around 5-6 times while we were sitting in the lobby waiting for our room. My wife is such a "lady", she would have gone just to be respectful.
