Canada and America share a common lineage in history. The main thing that separates us is where the political lines were drawn. Canadians are proud, tough, and fun-loving people, much like Americans. We speak the same, drink the same, love the same, party the same, and look the same. I have Canadian friends that will be my friends for life. We love you all, and feel the love back. You are known as our "Good neighbor to the North" and their is much truth in that. That said, when we meet in Mexico, we are all equal. Put aside any political bullshit, and let's just all have a great time!
We met a couple from Brazil a few years ago and went to dinner with them. This was in Cancun, but not TTR. They seemed very nice until she had a few drinks. I said something about "America" and she went OFF! Obviously, she had issues with the US and got really pissed and let me know that she didn't appreciate us hijacking the term "Americans." We were flabbergasted and just sat there in a bit of a stupor. Finally, Sam tried to break the silence with a joke and she started again. Her husband stood up, apologized and took her back to the hotel. We've been a little cautious using the term since then.
While I do enjoy the taste of Canadians I prefer the taste of Mexicans far more. For Mexicans I generally use hot peppers, many spices and veggies including lots of cilantro; for Canadians I mostly just put them in a bun with some spicy barbecue sauce similar to the way I eat Polish and Italians. When having Canadians for breakfast they always seem a little salty so I most often just cut them up and cook them up with eggs and veggies. I'm getting hungry (not the country) now...
I was an official American in the 4th if july as I was the only Canadian on the Boobs Cruise that day![emoji108][emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good and bad in all nationalities. I will socialize with anyone until they give me a reason to not to. :beer4:
Since I'm American and sean is originally from manchester we don't have probs with anyone. Now as people get more drunk their accents become hard for me to understand. But I just nod my head yes and smile. No telling what offers I have accepted
I (Cheryl) have no problem with anyone from any where. I have encountered one person from Montreal when we we're there in September. That I thought was rude about doing something. I confronted him and he was surprise I was serious. I will say (hind sight) I over reacted on how I confronted him, but he was still not being courteous on what he was doing. Later that day my husband and I did apologizes for over reacting. We have always loved people that we have me from Canada. They are great. We look forward to meeting more. When we are at TTR we live by the motto, "No body knows you, no body gives a shit." Everyone should have fun.
