I can't stomach Cuervo anywhere but Cancun. Drank a bunch of it while I was there in February and didn't feel like lighting myself on fire the next day. It's definitely different than the Cuervo in the States.

Not bad, and my favorite of what they have at the bars. I bought a bottle to bring home, and it may be a while before it is gone. Apparently there is a difference between $10 and $35 tequila:icon_cool:

A beer so bad you have to put a lemon or lime to make it palatable :)

how can it get so popular I never understood

Patron or Traditional are both nice, can enjoy them without salt and lemon/lime

Was never a fan of tequila until I got to Cancun!! I've tried several different kinds. My favorite was a bottle with a flower on the front called Alcatraz. The smoothest I've ever had, but sad to say I've never found it again. I'm hooked on Sauza Triada and a tequila liqueur called Agavero. For those of you who aren't big fans Agavero is got a sweeter bite to it and makes it a bit easier to .......handle.

This thread has been very interesting to us....we're making a list of those we want to find and try (again wouldnt it be cool if the manufacturers of these tequilas came to TTR for a tasting sesion? Then we could buy the ones we really liked!)
I still think a wee bit of fun can be had at TTR with a tequila night...a shot of tequila, a little lime, a little salt, and an accommidating friend...;p)

One of the best - Check this

I have had quite a few different types of Tequilas and Mescal's and I have to say that one of the best that I have had and multi purpose too is Oro Azul. Rated at 93 points for the blue bottle Reposado!

We have shared this with friends all across the board and hands down all of them liked it very much. It is sometimes classified as a sipping Tequila but when you do shots or even make mixed drinks, its makes it that much better!

We'd agree with Zurc that Aha Toro is a good choice and we usually bring a bottle home when we travel to cancun. The absolute best tasting tequila that we have had is José Cuervo Reserva de la Familia. We plan on buying a bottle at the airport to bring with us so you are welcome to stop by our room to do a shot or 3. :)
