Yes ...everything you ask is all truè Grasshopper. Getting ready for the 24th installment of 'Temptmania' in 82 days to bring the house down, Literally!!!! But just GO! And forget about exquisite dining and rooms and such. Places with those standards are expensive and so very bourgeois and gauche! Temptation,"currently", is what you are longing for and you need to get there b4 Sept 24 and it all changes, or at least the price will. You sound like a perfect couple to break your wonton cherry at Mecca, and forget about being the star of a Sandals commercial. For your sanctity, You and your wife Need to experience TTR!!! Pm if you need help getting in for the finale week
In 15 trip ac has always worked for us only time i ever changed rooms is when they upgraded us and we were too far away from the sexy pool. No issues with the rooms for us...comfortable beds especially when wasted....so every nap time we love it. If it reallt was bad do you really think you would have these thousands of people going again and again.
Those are great questions! I think the rooms are fine, at least better than some Ive stayed in. Always clean, spacious, and I can't really remember if the beds are comfy or not. I find that all the rooms I"ve stayed in in mexico are humid and always have that hotel air conditioning smell. Take Lysol and Glade. You'll be fine. As for food, on the one or two occasions where fine dining is your priority, you'll be able to dress up and go to one of the restaurants ( dont forget to make your reservation early in the week), but for the most part, you'll be picking and snacking a few meals here and there. All of which is good...not elegant and great, but that's not what "all you can eat bacon" is about anyway. As for the beach... I shamefully rarely leave the party to head down there. It's literally only three steps away from the premier bar so you can stop down there on your way to Margaritas for a snack. Its fine... chairs, sand, ocean. What else do you need, right? Overall, I think that the resort is great. It's a little small compared to other places we've stayed. You don't have to walk a mile to get from point A to point B. If you want long quiet walks, beautiful gardens, and lots of quiet romantic early nights on your balcony, you might look elsewhere. ( Insert snooze here). TTR is more about ( ok... ALL about) the people. Through this forum, and FB groups, friends are made before you even meet there. The party is 24/7. Even complete strangers are your friend. Small, old, young, sexy, plump, round, bald, beautiful, and every nationality mix in and become your 7 day best friends. If atmosphere, fun, laughs, and party people are what you are looking for...choose TTR. And welcome to the forum!!! Look around and check out the one zillion other posts about these topics. WE're here if you have questions...
It's pretty much like that.........but with a whole lot of fun rolled in. And now that it's closing for a complete Ren in a couple months we're not expecting the best facility maintenance. With that said we are going in a couple weeks and fully expect to have a wonderful time.
We had the same questions after reading the reviews. We have have been there two times, April 2015 and January 2016. Are the rooms the best that we have ever stayed in? Absolutely not. Are they the worst that we have ever stayed in? Absolutely not. We look at it this way, we only sleep, shower and change our clothes there so we are not there long enough to worry about the room. As far as the food we love the breakfast buffet but will not go there for lunch and dinner. We think that the Asian Restaurant is the best followed by the Italian restaurant in a close second. Don't worry about the minor things, just go and have fun.
We had a lot of the same concerns before our first trip last year, yes the reviews on many of the travel sites didn't look promising. After spending sometime reading the many pages of posts and being welcomed on CancunCare.com by everyone we had a late September early October 2015 trip booked. Getting to know the people on this site first and making some friends we walked in the front door of Temptation and felt right at home and it only got better from that point on. Without CancunCare.com we may of went elsewhere and missed out on this special place and it's special people who travel from all over the world to party here. Trip #2 is in 62 days, we cant wait to see our friends of last years trip and meet the new ones we have found this year for the first time. T
I will give you my honest reply... We started going to TTR in 2012 and we fell in love with it! Especially the people Our first room was amazing! It was overlooking the quiet pool and the balcony was HUGE. The next year our room was in the 5000 block and it was smaller but just as nice. When we went in 2014 things started to go downhill a little bit. We noticed that the service wasn't as great as it had been and that was the first year that we had a "not so great room". We had holes in our curtains and the air conditioning didn't work so well. We also had mold and mildew problems. My husband and I both came home with colds/ sore throats that year. the next year we decided to upgrade to a jacuzzi room so we could have a better room. We were so disappointed. We had a huge leak in our bathroom. It basically flooded So with that being said the past couple of years we have been, we haven't had much luck with rooms. But we go for the atmosphere and the people, not the rooms. TTR is unique. There is nowhere like it. It's fun and crazy and kind of reminds you of being back in college on spring break. If you want a place with 5 star food and amazing rooms with great views, but a sexy atmosphere then try Desire RM or Pearl. We've been to both and LOVE it. But I urge you to try TTR. You're going to meet amazing people! And you're going to have a blast Request a room by the quiet pool and you will be ok.
To be 100% honest, although I have heard a lot of talk about these things, we have been 11 times and have never experienced them, so based on our experiences, I would say it's pretty rare. If you get a room that you don't like, ask them to move you. Someone commented about poor service. Well, I don't think I have ever heard that complaint before. Waiters, bartenders, maids and everyone else works their butts off for you and are some if the most polite people you will ever meet. I would sum it up by saying that if you go there looking for problems, you can probably find some and this probably isn't the place for you. If you are going with the intent of laughing, partying and meeting great people, pack your bags!
Old rooms? Sure, the place started out back in the late 70s or so, I think for part of the construction. However, everything is kept meticulously clean, and if they happened to miss something, all you need do is mention it to a staff of housecleaning (better, the one who handles your room, and it will be handled quickly and well. Mold smell? Sure, but that is literally everywhere in all of Cancun, there's not a hotel in Cancun that doesn't have to deal with a mold smell from time to time, it is the area & climate, not the hotel. That type of tropical/Caribbean climate makes mold like the ocean makes sand. Unavoidable. But, as with comment above, TTR staff keep it well below any sort of level that will bother you. Reviews? Stop reading Trip Advisor about Temptation. (LOL!) I love Trip Advisor, but the folks who post the negative reviews there obviously did NOT read what the place is like (here OR there) prior to going. Keep in mind, on TA you have to week through people who want to grind a axe on some sort of perceived slight... such as a Hotel Zone facility in Cancun not living up to the Ritz-Carlton in NYC or something. It can't, it's not in that league, but I guarantee you will have more fun at TTR than at the Ritz in NYC. No question. Tops Optional? Sorta... ends up sort of nearly string hong mandatory! Not quite, but we can always hope.
