Imho Starbucks is a place to go to hang out. I make better coffee at home with my espresso maker. So the only reason I pay for Starbucks is to give me a place to meet friends and to hang out. I pay for the location, not the coffee. And sometimes I lug my laptop to a cafe, but only when work demands it. Otherwise who wants to carry around a computer? Laptops, even though they are made to be portable, are not tough. I've had 6 laptops so far this life, most don't live long past 2 years before something goes wrong, and that's with me being very careful and not dragging them out of my office too often. (Although I do have one 12 year old Dell laptop that I just cannot kill, the thing won't die for anything, I wish it would.)
