We just got back and walked in the beach and had no issues. It was about 2AM in the morning. The sports pool had 6 people total in it. We saw one couple get out and they both were completely nude. Security was watching like a hawk but did nothing to the couple. They have the beds lit nicely at night but too much light to do anything in without being noticed.

Safety from people is not an issue on the beach. But beware of jellyfish--and they're harder to guard against (vs people) IMO!

(my opinion) TTR is on the outer edge of the Hotel Zone,, to walk back and forth in central Cancun surrounded by 5* resorts and their security is one thing, to walk at night up and down the beach'' away'' from TTR would not be on my to do list.

You will get different opinions on this as people have different levels of security limits.

Thanks! This is our first trip outside the US so there is a lot to learn. I know Mexico is NOT the US, I just figured in that area it is safer than as you go inland. I take all opinions with a grain of salt (and a lemon wedge) :icon_mrgreen:

We'll see when we arrive how comfortable we will be. Thanks for your input and the others!

Our last night there in May we took a walk to cool down from the Patty-O dancing about 1 or so. Found ourselves on the beach beds on the side by the quiet pool. Was not overly lit up there but I sure was (LOL). so we got busy on the bed. Several couples walked by and eventually resort security too. They just waited until we finished then came closer to ask if we were Temptation-ers (if it wasnt already obvious!). After confirming us he left us alone again. Would have tipped him, but I had misplaced my pants.

The beach was safe for sure and we had no bugs.
