I say sleep on the sidewalk. I remember meeting a guy in 04 who did this. I think I recall seeing him waking up in the morning with puke all around him.

I suggest getting a cheap hotel in downtown Cancun. The hotels there are really cheap and its a good way of seeing the other side of Cancun. The real Mexico. I stayed in downtown for about a week just before Christmas and it was awesome. You can still catch the bus to the clubs...(About 15 minutes). I arrive a day earlier as well and thats what I am going to do.
