Watching the fire from home and confirm with authorities, I have some pictures to send to Steve later today and will let know any new information

After calling several times to Dreams and see the black smoke above the ocean it appears that it was a boat (no idea at this moment from whom) that got on fire in front of Dreams Hotel.

There's a story breaking out of the Mexican media, that a boat with approximately 40 illegal Cuban immigrants aboard caught fire in the waters off the hotel zone. The locals moved in to rescue the passengers via boat but the boat the Cubans were on apparently was consumed by fire. The story goes on to say, that in the scene that followed, most of the Cubans rescued disappeared into the hotel zone during the confusion, with apparently eight being held by authorities. No word on injuries.

This will probably have more info by tomorrow in the local press.

Oh, what a big surprise...MORE Cubans have arrived... If the boat had not caught fire they wouldn't ever have caught any of them. It's amazing how many Cubans are coming through Cancun now.
