Boy, going to need experienced people to give us a guided hand when we are there but looking forward to it

Matchandahalf pretty much nailed everything you asked. As far as water sports, I'm pretty certain there is no snorkel equip. As there is nowhere at the property worthy of snorkeling. We try and take a Hobiecat out daily and are available 90% of the time. If not, it is only a 30 minute wait max. I have read that they recently added Standup Paddle Boards and I am looking forward to trying that. The closest snorkeling I would recommend is on Isla Mujeres. We have been to the beach/small hotel immediately north of Garrafon Park and they rent equip for a fair price. Have fun!

My wife and I will be staying here at the beginning of June this year for five nights. So excited! I have a few newbie questions:

1. For the a la carte restaurants, can I reserve spots a few days in advance? Could I show up on the first day and make reservations for the next day and the one after that, for example? If not, what's the best time of day to make reservations?
You can go to the Seafood restaurant at 10am. You reserve for either the Asian or Italian Restaurant for up to 3 days in advance I think. Both are excellent. When you make a reservation, make it for 4 (or more) then when you're talking to people by the pool, ask what they are doing for dinner. We met lots of people that way!

2. The site specifies that the bars serve brands like Bacardi and Cuervo. If I don't specify, will they serve well liquor? (In other words, would I have to say, "I want a Smirnoff Drunken Monkey"?)
Yes always specify the liquor you'd like.

3. Has anyone been rained out in early June?
I wouldn't worry about it, the June people seem to have lots of fun with no complaints.

4. We're both 25, but we're a little quieter than typical twentysomethings. I'm really laid-back and wouldn't worry if it was just me, but my wife is shy and hates being bothered. Will we still have a good time? Are the harassment levels generally low?
We were there in March, with lots of single guys. Kim was not harassed at all. She is very social and was approached by a few single guys, but it was all normal conversation.

5. What's the noise level in the a la carte dining areas? Can we expect a quiet-ish dinner, or is it boisterous like a bar?
Like a normal fine dining restaurtant. Dress nicely too.

6. Is there usually enough equipment to go around for the sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing activities? Do they have snorkeling equipment?
No idea. But I'd be willing to bet you'll come out of your shells a little bit because the people are awesome. Make it a point to pick someone out and say Hi. Ask were they are from and how many times they've been to TTR. You will make life long friends.

7. Timeshare pushers. How best to avoid? Last time I was in Cancun, I'd won a plane ticket in a contest and stayed at the cheapest possible hotel in Puerto Juarez, so they obviously didn't waste their time on me.
No thanks and keep walking, no eye contact is best...lol.
