7 days to go!!!!!!!!!!

Hi I leave for cancun in seven days and just have a couple of questions???

I plan on just using atm's rather than changing money here,is this a good idea or not??

I will get a better exchange rate using the atm as I don't get charged by my bank to use atms abroad

also should I take some dollars or can i just use peso's???

and are sea lice such a big issue

Well I guess the reality of it is....Using cash is much safer, you don't wanna be using your personal debti card all over a foreign country no matter where you are..
I would bring mostly cash with me, and use the debit card IF you need more.


You can use either dollars or pesos....

 

Debit card is fine, you'll get a better exchange rate than at the hotel, and you don't have to carry/store a bunch of cash. Bring enough for the first couple days.

Use dollars or pesos, but you'll get pesos from the ATM. It's just harder to do the drunken math when paying for things in pesos.

Sea lice situation changes all the time, it gets mentioned but doesn't seem to be a big problem these days.

Just go, get drunk, get lucky, have fun.

nothin wrong with atm cards... i took out $200 us and because of the exchange rate.. my bank said i took out $180 something!!!


but what dennis said is right.. go, have fun, get lucky.
