Thought I'd start a "tips for spring breakers" thread and see how many we can get. It should become a useful resource, probably be stickied, and one we can point first timers to in future. Rules: a) Only one tip per post, but you can make as many posts with extra tips as you like. Try to keep them short and sweet. b) Lets just keep it to tips. No off topic tangents or commenting on other peoples tips. c) Please keep it general to Spring Break, not about specific hotels. d) Please only post if you have already visited Cancun during Spring break. You dont need to be a multi-repeater but you do need to be speaking from experience. Lets see if we can get to 50!
Ok, I'll start: Guys! (well ladies too I expect). Do not pee in the street! If you get caught you will either need to pay a bribe or enjoy a ride in a Police car and one nights free All Inclusive accomodation that does not receive good reviews.
Ladies! (well guys too I expect) Do not leave drinks unattended or accept drinks from strangers. It doesn't happen often but occasionally things you'd rather not consume may get slipped in to drinks.
Do not have sex on the beach....and get caught.....see Steve's peeing on the street tip for reasoning
Use the public bus for transportation. It's like .65 or .75 cents per trip one way. Easy & much cheaper than a taxi, runs 24/7, & loads of fun!!!
speak to staff at the hotel about nights out. they have good deals with the clubs and will sort out entry, tables and transport to the club of choice that night. sometimes a cheaper and hassle free option!!
Ladies..........always travel in groups! CAncun is a very safe place, likely much safer than home, however, travel in groups just to be safe! You are in a different country, and you will likely be drinking a lot! So, things can happen, so to be on the safe side, just use common sense, travel in groups, and you will have the best trip ever!
No need to bring loads of cash or travellers cheques as there are plenty of cash machines around the hotel zone and night club / bar areas . These ATM's are also compatable with all UK based bank cards. Ian :lol: :lol:
