Oh yeah, not disagreeing with you. Been putting it on our exit forms since 2010 Just trying to understand their logic. If they would do some sort of survey or assess the crowd then they would realize they are NOT doing what the majority likes but do they care enough to do this? I think time has shown they don't.
We like sticking to the summer months. The vibe is great as so is the warmer weather. The dj is always so so for us.
The music issue aside as it does truly suck IMHO... Never have a had a bad meal at TTR. Some not overly to my liking or the choices at the buffet may seem repetitive at times but never a bad meal. I think for the most part the food is excellent. Over all I think the service is also excellent. Yes we have had the odd time where we wish they were more attentive but again normally service is top notch! Never had an issue pool side regarding service, if anything quite the opposite...I have had to slow down the delivery of drinks. I agree the the ET's at times could do better mingling with guests to get interest up for the games but they work 10 hour days 6 days a week and have to put up with a lot of shit. I can see why their enthusiasm may wane at times. Sometimes the crowd just is not receptive and even on the hostile side (rare but have witnessed it twice). I call it herd mentality. IMHO, I believe a lot of what one experiences and feels about their stay at TTR is based on attitude, enthusiasm etc. We have had some stays where the whole 10 days was rocking day and night with tons of participation. We have seen it go from you can hear the crickets poolside because people are not in to anything the ET's are doing to rocking as guests cycle in or out over the course of a few days. Sorry this has turned in to a novel but I should also mention that some trips have been better than others based on the above...but never a bad trip. Scott EDIT: After another coffee to wake up a bit more (have the flu fog going on here)...There actually were a few instances where we felt the service was lacking...once pool side in the member's area and twice at the buffet. The more I think about it, we felt almost ignored. Not sure what was up but these were isolated and short lived incidents. They may have dampened the moment...in no way did they dampen things overall.
I just loaded some good music to take and hopefully the dj will accept this music and play it... taking some old school.. Funk, Disco, ect.
This talk about the music got me curious. When we go in June, it seems like a lot of the people at PatyO's at night are young locals. Do you think the DJ is trying to compete with the Cancun clubs for locals' business? And I heartily agree--I'd love to hear Latin music while I'm in Mexico!
We had the same questions and concerns for 2-3 years in a row........and decided last year to give it one more chance. We thought last year was freaking amazing........food good......hell better than we eat at home in a given week. Admit it people..........you know it's that way for you too. We thought that the entertainment at night last year was absolutely amazing. Now for the staff..............can you begin to imagine the hours they put in week after week.........trying to coordinate a bunch of idiots (term of endearment).....doing the same or similar things over and over? Have you ever had a bad day....week or month at work? Have you ever been stuck in a job because you had to have a paycheck? Can you imagine how burned out some of these folks must be? I know.........it's your dime......you paid for it. Give the staff a break.....give them an idea! Give them encouragement! A thank you goes a long way. We've been on the other side of this fence too, as I said at the top.............but.....don't rely on others to entertain you every moment.........make your own fun. Or go someplace else. Motel 6 will leave the lights on for you! Peace
Being a DJ / producer, I'm gonna agree with you.. If the crowds not bouncing, then the DJ is not doing his job!
Donald, I've seen that beautiful woman you hang around with, I'm guessing the sex is pretty damn good the other 10 months of the year!:aktion031:
On their website, April 14th-17th is showing as Latin Fever weekend. I would think the music would be Latin that weekend at Patyo's... guess we will find out.
