Yah, that would be pretty crazy and you would prolly drive each other insane by the end of the trip....
I think it's a great idea, and I'd like to do it. I don't know if it's such a great idea if you aren't used to the f'd up US roads though...lol
I drove from Boston to Miami, Boston to Vera Beach, and Boston to Panama City Beach. I'm glad I can afford to fly now.
I've driving from CT to Florida and/or Florida to CT at least 20 times, same with CT-Atlanta. Cape Cod to Dallas, TX was a haul as well, but fun as were many other road trips. The best way to learn about the US is to see it. Driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains is a lot better than flying over them. Same for the Chesapeake Bay, Maine Coastline, Niagara Falls, etc... sometimes the journey is better than the destination.

Vegas will comp you if you spend lots or win a little... Just so they can get it back. I won $8k on my first trip to Vegas and have never paid for anything since. I don't get the best room at the MGM, but it's decent... the food is plentiful and the booze are served 24 hours. I've never won $8k again, but I've yet to lose anything either... and they keep inviting me back.
