I just like the premier room area, that is really the only perk that matters to me when booking premier, I love having the ground floor right in front of the sexy pool... me and stairs dont get along for some reason at 5am leaving PattyO's lol
The broken and or chipped glasses are gross. I just toss them in the garbage rather letting them re-use them. It's an easy fix and they have to replace them if they are gone.
Never knew this would get so many replies. Seems like people tend to get defensive for some reason. The one thing I always remember no matter where we travel is, I am paying to stay. Its not free. They aren't doing me a favor for free. And I do have some expectations when paying to stay. The expectation to have clean glasses without chips around the edges, to safeguard the sloped walkways on rainy days, and to have free wifi is unreasonable? Wow. Its ridiculous to go to an all inclusive resort and feel the need to take a mug (although after our 1st trip we learned to carry mugs). For those of you that read between the lines and thought I want to see Patty O's covered, you're wrong. All Im talking about is just covering the 2 countertop areas with those large white tarps like they have over the bar. The open areas would still be open. At least that way when it pours rain, it wouldnt send everyone to their rooms. The positives are the great times we have with friends we meet there, the Mexican, Seafood, and Asian restaurants, the breakfast buffet, and the employees. I cant count the times we were met with a "¡hola". The grounds and housekeeping are excellent! The bartenders are second to none! We will go back next year with our friends and have a good time as usual. Thinking more July this time though. Less rain.
After reading this I looked at your avatar and expected to see a photo of Clint Eastwood with the caption "Get off my Lawn" Resort is $135- $225 a night year around - aside from the chipped plastic cups and the areas that need non-slip coating applied to them - we respectfully disagree. Looking forward to see all the new Premier improvements!
I'm not sure I'd say the discussion has been defensive on anyone's part. It's just different opinions some of us have...difffering viewpoints just mean a healthy discussion. My main point was just that as with anything available to buy...there are different price points available to meet everyone's needs. I can buy a new car for $13,000...or $50,000. Either way I get what I choose to pay for. A Cadillac will outperform a low end Chevy...but each can be a good value depending on what's important to each buyer. TTR is the best value for me...others may feel the same with an exclusive 5 star. What I tried to point out was that I think it's overly critical to want to pay Chevy Cruze prices for some Cadillac features. Having said all that...chipped glasses probably shouldn't be re-used...floors should be reasonably safe when wet - even if it's just signs warning people. We all agree it's a great place to go.
I wasn't trying to be defensive, just pointing out that: a) you're posting to a forum of fans (i'm sure posting a negative view of a sports team to their fan site would illicit a similar, if not so cordial, response) b) The review was heavy on the negative aspects but you're going back so the pros must outweigh the cons. Your post did not reflect this Anyway, I'm glad you had a great time and glad you're going back. We've been to a few all-inclusives and TTR is mostly awesome. Hell any place with no kids and boobies out is pretty awesome to us. Add the theme nights and sexy but chill vibe and I can overlook a lot of imperfections.
Can't we all just get along??!! Haha This is going to be our first trip to TTR and we like hearing the pros and cons, helps with expectations. As long as the rooms are clean, the food is not gross, the alcohol is flowing and everyone is friendly including guests and staff its all good! No worries mon!! As I have said any many post this is our favorite place to vacay!! That being said I do wish that they would do something about the slick floors, I thought I broke my knee in May (not really but it bruised up pretty good)! We always bring our own mugs not because of the chips in the glasses but because the cups are so small I feel like I would spend all day at the bar getting refills!! LOL We have friends that have a Premiere and yes they get more perks but they paid for them so it is only fair!! We go to TTR 2-3 times a year but living in Texas it makes no since to buy into the Premiere world because our flight are a lot lower than most peoples are up north.
I think the TR was pretty honest. I recall the one of the major reasons for the decline in Hedo II was due to the complete and total Devotion of a lot of its fans. WE used to say that Hedo could maintain a 50% occupancy rate even if you had to sleep in Pup tents and ate microwaved hot dogs. As far as folks not inviting you in their group, we assumed that everyone in the sexy pool was a swinger the first couple of days, so we really didn't try very hard !!! LOL That red/orange, yellow, white wristband mixup thing.
