When we went last September it was hit or miss, some nights after the music was done we would have a bunch of naked people in the pool and some other nights it was myself and the wife only, both were great.
Judging by the pool temp, i would guess it is a solar heater, but havent seen one on the roofs.(gets really hot in the afternoon). 2 years a go in Jan they diverted hot water from the rooms and turn the pool into a hot tub,,, had steam coming offf of it in the early morning. only lasted a couple of days then back to freezing.
I remember the pool being ridiculously hot in Jan 2012 - it was like bath water temperature. Then, in November 2012 it was not heated at all. People asked why the heater wasn't working, and they were told that it was because the heat generated for the pool came from people using their air con. Becase it was November and not as hot as other times in the year apparently not enough people were using their air con to head the pool?
I was there when the hot pool experiment went down. We've decided to book in April next year, so the pool will be warm on its own.
had a great time in that sports pool at around 430 in the morning lol... guards kept passin by n just smiling.. i dont think they wanted to stop us lol... they didnt even try!
It's amazing how quickly it cools off at night even in April. We were there late in the month and the days were hot and the pools felt like bath water but the night we went skinny dipping it was surprisingly chilly.
April /May has the best weather in cancun and April has the largest CC crowd, don,t wait to long to book the resort sells out for April.
Jamie always wants to go south in February or March...but the air and pool temps can be a little cool. We drank to warm up on our last Boobs Cruise and absolutely froze in the Sexy Pool - so April...here we come. Found some good rates, so we're about to book.
Just got back from there this week. The sexy pool gets uncomfortably hot in the afternoons - it's entirely from that large flat area with the dark tile and shallow water - that water is easily 15 degrees warmer than the rest of the pool and then in the afternoon with all the people in it, the circulation makes that hot water mix in and bam - hot pool. The sports pool is open 24 hours - we went in late nights after dancing - 1:00~2:00 AM - skinny dipping of course. Enjoyed "other activities" as well - each night there were several couples enjoying that other activity in there ... ah, the life in Cancun.
