We were just there last week... no idea if it is heated or not but after after a night at Paty'O just what the doctor ordered... There were acctually quite a few people each night using it (up to 20 sometimes)... Security did enforce the skinny dipping rules 50% of the time i.e. bottoms had to stay on (I think because they had to) but then when they left you could pretty much do whatever you wanted... I can say most people spent an hour or so in the pool (if not longer)...
We where there in Aug and pool was great. I would say 20 or so in it. My wife and I were on way back to the room on White Night and as we walked past poll they asked us to join them I looked at my wife and we both siad what the hell off came her dress and in we went fun stuff
Its fantastic during the warmer months, come Jan, Feb, March, etc its chilly. I went in it at night in sept and it was perfect, but thought it was chilly in May.
Last Feb it was definitely chilly, but I'm a bit of a dancing fiend and I tend to get pretty hot. So the pool was perfect for a quick strip-and-cool-down before heading back to the dance floor. As far as how busy it was: almost nobody over there while music was still going at PatyO's, and only a handful afterward from what I recall (by the time the music stops at PatyO's though, my recollections usually aren't worth much.) There were a few people in there on pool party night, but mostly just jumping in to cool off and getting back out.
jaysus, cancun is 28 + degrees every day, and never gets cold, how could a non heated pool be cold?????
I prefer non heated over heated - great way to fix a hangover cure. It is freezing when you first go in, especially after lounging in the sun, but after the initial shock it's fine and a great way to keep cool! One morning the sexy pool was incredibly warm (over heated in my opinion). I lasted about 15 minutes before I had to relocate to the quiet pool because the warmth of the water was making me feel ill!
Well for doing the competitive lap swimming that I'm sure you'll be doing every night :icon_mrgreen: it's fine. But at night in February it's well below "hanging out drinking" temperature. For whatever reason (faster cycling of the water? deeper? less pee?) that pool doesn't get as warm as the sexy pool during the day. Then after dark it gets pretty chilly, probably down close to the temp of the water they pump in for circulation. I think most people's comfortable "hanging out drinking" pool temp is ~85F (29C), maybe a little warmer. The water they pump in for circulation is probably closer to room temp (maybe 75F/24C) - that's more like competitive swimming pool temps. The upshot: if you're in the late-night pool in February for more than a quick cool-down, you're gonna want to be doing something VIGOROUS! :3some:
