McBush's Tax Cuts ... FOR THE WEALTHY, OF COURSE! ... "John McCain's tax shift is just the latest proof that his economic plan represents four more years of George Bush's policies," http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/10/mccain-now-want.html
I voted last week absentee so they can stop talking to me, put channel 12 on instead at least that's a bunch of boobs i want to see!
I don't like either one of them.. Can you still do a write in this day and age??? One is too much the same as what we have, and the other one is against the coal mines.. Without the coal mines, around here, it would be a ghost town.... Can't vote for something like that.
me, too, Jason! Norb and I were in line before 7 a.m. There were 14 people ahead of us, before the doors even opened. It's an exciting election! ........................................
So if you don't vote black you're racist? Guess what... I don't like his policies, I don't like his advisors, and I don't like that he says vote for me for change for change sake. What is the change? Well of course it's more money for Teachers, free college for everyone, more cops on the street, raises for Nurses, tax cuts for everyone but the rich (what is rich is still being decided), a chicken in every pot, end of world hunger, a love fest for everyone, and everyone sitting around the campfire singing kumbaya....Hey, if we could wake up tomorrow and that all be true I'd vote for the man in a second. But I'm a little sick for those that base their vote on what is he promising me? What will I get for my vote? Not what is right for the country. There is no way he can deliver all that he has promised even if he gets everything he asks for. Even playing Robin Hood and "tax the rich to feed the poor until there are rich no more" the level of "rich" is going to have to move downward to get the money. I mean right now the top 1% pay 94% of all the taxes collected today. But what the heck, today is election day, people's minds are made up, or should be at least. Let's hope that whoever wins they deliver on their promises and we still have some sort of country in 4 years.... Jamie
On our electronic voting machines, there is a button with a write in vote option. I have never used it though. I would think that if you push it, it will bring you to a keyboard where you can type in the name. I also think that there is no particularly strong candidate this year. Hence the closeness of the polls (for the most part). If there was one "stand out" candidate, then we would probably be seeing a landslide victory. I just don't see that happening today. I feel for you on your situation there in West Virginia. I live in an area which was built on and used to rely on it's industrial (factory) employment which has tanked over the past 20 years. There are so many vacant houses/houses for sell in our area, it's unreal. Our Governor has helped by locking property taxes at 1% for personal real estate, 2% for rental properties, and 3% for businesses. He has also pulled off some controversial deals, like leasing out our Toll Road in Northern Indiana to private interests. Both of these have helped out quite a bit, but there is still work to be done. We can only hope that whomever gets into the White House, they will get to work early in their presidency to get things going in the right direction. And with the help of the other levels of government. It's time that these folks quit bickering and do something to help those that elect them.
