I know it's not exactly Cancun, but still an interesting article. A 20-year-old criminology student is named police chief of the Chihuahua town of Guadalupe because she was the only one brave enough to take the job. Student, 20, named police chief of violent Mexican border town Guadalupe | Herald Sun
And she's cute to boot LOL! The article says the town only has one cop car, hopefully the military has a strong presence there to help her and whatever other officers the town has. I am almost 34 and I couldn't imagine trying to be a cop let alone chief in such a violent area. Good luck to her!
Look at the other headlines on the left, as well. If she were my daughter I'd be terrified. It's unbelievable...the level of violence.
This could turn out to be VERY bad. Good things will likely not be coming to this poor girl and when it hits the fan about what has happened to her, it will be on front page news worldwide. Hopefully someone will step up and say to her that she has made a mistake and take over before the inevitable happens. Both for her and Mexico as a whole.
She might have stepped up to take on the role and make the best of it. Kick backs from drug dealers can be pretty good I am sure...lol
