We will be following this closely...we have a small group set to go the July/August 2026 week. We found the trip we took in July 2025 to be fun and as expected, but the news about changes all happened after we left. I know our beneficiary benefits for 2026 are not nearly as good as in 2025 (much has been written about that already). Really sucks for those who had contracts with huge numbers of nights bought with the idea that they could essentially sell/share them with friends and everyone would get close to the same benefit. Having sat in on those sales meetings, they really pushed the idea of getting your numbers up and using beneficiary to offset the cost. Seems like a pretty awful bait & switch the likes of which would be a class action lawsuit in the USA, but in MX, I don't know that members will have much recourse.

Hearing that the vibe is changing as well is definitely something we will want to keep an eye on. I'm reading and hearing that the music is worse, the music is quieter, the pool games are tamer, some favorite staff are gone...it's all rumor to me at this point since I haven't experienced it for myself, but if this is true it will be a sad to see. I'm still hopeful that it's either overblown or that any new management decisions will be pretty quickly seen for what they are and reversed. We shall see.

We agree with most of the comments as we saw things change from our first membership in 2018. Our last trip was in December for the takeover so it was a step up even if we had to pay extra to be part of it. We found that part to be awesome as we spent most nights on the roof either in the pool or hot tub, which were really hot. This is what it should be like all the time!
The thing that bothered us the most is the throwing people out at 3pm on departure day. Our flights are always in the evening and it never used to be like this. Just saying for ourselves, but there’s no way we’ll get drunk before leaving as we do have to go through all the airport stuff and don’t want to be denied boarding, so it’s not like they’re going to save a lot. It’s just very annoying and it leaves a bad taste at the end of the trip.
Otherwise, they had feature DJs all week so the music was good, food was really good, new friends awesome as usual, staff excellent as usual too. Transfer was USA, so always on time and easy.
@MikeandHeather , we upgraded in 2024 after we got screwed in DR. The next step was the tower so can’t say if they pushed more for that, but they do push for meetings and upgrades every time we go and we go twice a year. So for the price of the membership, plus the increase in room rates, we think they should cut us some slack and keep the members happy ! We usually go end of March, but the increase in price made us choose 5 star cruising instead for this trip, which is costing even less.
We sure hope that things will get back to what we signed up for or better. It seems that they want to push us to Desire to be able to enjoy that little extra that we like, but Desire is ridiculously expensive and frankly, we don’t think it’s worth it.

Just got back last night. Overall, I think things are better. Shoot me.
There are definitely changes being made and people are getting screwed on their contracts I'm sure. So far those things have not affected us. They are building a new tower, and supposedly we will not have access to it since we did not accept an upgrade to our contract. I'll believe it when I see it. So far they have never kept things "Exclusive" for very long. Once the memberships all buy in (or not) they'll water it down and start selling access through expedia. Whatever...

As for the resort, I felt like the food and service were better overall, considerably in some cases. The lower volume of music at the pool and Bash suits us just fine. It was still a great party. The playmakers' energy was a little lower, but the new kids will catch on I think. I did miss JJ, but its not like he was going to last forever. They just need to find the next group of talent. So IMO the atmosphere was basically what we have always come to expect. We had a great trip.

Glad you guys had a great trip and so good to hear some things are better now. We will be there in a week. There were quite a few bad reviews and we were worried. Playmakers never last long. We'll miss JJ, pretty boy and Barbie!!

That’s great to hear! I personally don’t have a contract so those changes don’t really impact my enjoyment of the resort.

Sad it seems like we'll just miss you guys again. we are going Aug 3-10!

Definitely hoping that some of the other things we are hearing are temporary. Definitely bummer for those with beneficiaries, myself included. I feel like the bigger issue is the increase in member rates, where they are now often more than expedia or other online rates for the trendy rooms... still a "deal" for the tower, but that seems to be getting less as well.

Missed by a single day two years in a row, right?! Crazy. Guess we need to plan better! We definitely prefer to be in the tower, so we'll see what it's like. I'll be happy to report back later this summer. We're trying to take some of the feedback with a grain of salt. One of the things that I've noticed is that the people who are 30 with 5 years experience going there and people who are 60 with 20 years experience going there might have vastly different takes on what would make the place better or worse. Some people would see EDM as the ideal music and others want to hear hip hop. It's hard to please everyone. For me, the biggest thing they need to get right is to maintain an overall atmosphere that feels like spring break for adults. You can't sanitize it too much or I'm not sure what makes it different than a Breathless or Hard Rock. You can't go too far or you become Hedo. TTR seems in the past to do a nice job of hitting the middle ground on that stuff: sexy but not off-putting to people who would be intimidated by a move from PG-13 to X-rated.

I wonder, if anyone has been there lately, are they still doing contests like Ms. / Mr. Temptation or belly flop challenges that have a little more relaxed take on contest related nudity vs the overall resort rules? We always found the fun of those contests in the afternoon to be one of the highlights of the day. The "I can't believe I'm doing this" face is a staple of a great trip to TTR!

And of course, I'm sure if the resort goes in a slightly different direction, our friends on the Boobs Cruise will still bring the party!

That's very encouraging! Glad to hear a positive, recent review.
