We have just returned from our 8th trip to Temptations Cancun and noticed quite a few changes this trip. Most of them good. The lounge chairs at the pools have all been replaced with much more comfortable and durable ones. There were also quite a few at the sports pool as well. There is a new policy that you cannot save chairs before 6 am. If you put anything down before then security will remove it. There was a big shortage of the white premier towels at the pool as has been in the past (they really need a bigger supply of them). The Premier beach area has been moved to the center of the sexy pool and improved. Premier menus are now 1 menu with everything on it rather than balancing 2 menus on your lap. as always the premier bartender was great and sooo attentive! There is a Saturday night pool party now, complete with the variety show that used to be in the club and the DJ playing till 1am. The pool is open although only about 8 people used it. It was nice though since there was much more seating then Patty O's. I wish they would do more of those. The seating at patty"os seems to be getting less and less. If you don't get there early you will have to stand. Not that the seats are very comfortable anyway. Now that they replaced the pool lounge chairs I hope the chairs at Patty O's are next! Security seems to have been really stepped up! Where I felt it was getting a bit loose last year, this year it was a 180 degree change! There were several guards around the pool in the daytime and a can of alcohol infused whipped cream was made to be put away as people were having to much fun with it. There was no 4 o'clock show this year (for those of you who were there last April) as there was last year. I am sure it would not have been tolerated. There were at least 3 guards at Patty O's every night clearly keeping a sharp eye. a fellow who came in w/o a shirt on was sent back to his room. No bartenders dancing on the bar with tequila shots as last year. Clearly more security walking around the property in the pre dawn hours as well. It was "almost" to strict but I guess there was a need for it. Some people do get carried away. Some of the games have been toned down. No daring darts or naked tequila volleyball which was fun to watch. I was not a participant in the past. The guest are the same great people that make it so much fun to go there!!!! The Entertainment staff was great as always, although we learned Amy will be gone next week. So sorry to see her go!!
No Darts or NTVB? WTF! We missed those last year because of the rain, and now we won't get to experience them at all? I'm starting to get pissed. :angrymad:
Being Temptation newbies, going for the first time in OCT, what are PREMIER benefits, and how to you get them? (and are the worth it )
I'm a thinkin' "improvements" to some are "bad decisions" to others. I'm also thinkin' "Fun" to us is "inappropriate behavior" to others. I'm also thinkin' "Fun" for some is "extremely boring" to us. Each to their own...
I agree with Jim and Chanda. I was very excited about naked tequila volleyball and risky pool games--and I'd definitely love shirtless dancing shot dudes! I'm starting to worry those of us who've never been til now are really getting cheated.
