I have a yard. I need grass...preferably sod. People agree that there is 'a company' around here that does this but no one knows who they are. The park around the corner recently got a facelift...sod and all. I regret now not asking. Does anyone out there know of a company or a person, small business, etc. that provides this service? Greatly appreciated!
Don't know of a company. We always go buy it and put it in ourselves. "Pasto en rollo" = grass in a roll ! Because they roll it up. For example they sell it in front of the school by the gym and the cultural center on the street between Costco and Sam's.
Yeah, I have seen it, kind of behind Sam's and Walmart, at the corner of Paleque and Yaxchilan, before La Casa de Cultura. (or pretty darn close???)
You guys know everything... ...which is perfect for people like me. T.J. and Jim...yes, that seems to fit in with the general (and I mean general) location I was directed to this evening. I live behind La Taberna, so yes T.J., very close. I have decided to take a morning hike over to the area and see what I can come up with. If nothing else, I'll stop for a coffee and local pastry...I might as well break the waistline in now for the upcoming holiday season. Thanks to you both...
Viveros JarDinn grows sod. We've bought it from their location on Colosio which is where they grow grass. I think they have more than one loc. And I think they have trucks so they *might* deliver if you pay extra.
Whenever we come to CUN (MX307) we pass a pasto place on the east side of the road. I'll look next time we come in, but it is probably close to the airport.
Just a quick reply. It`s been a week. My yard looks amazing and has taken on a new life of it`s own. How wonderful to have this in centro! Thanks to all for the suggestions. The guy was great. Priced much cheaper than I expected and was on-time! What more could I ask for! If anyone else needs such a service, I`d be happy to pass along his name. Thanks again everyone!
What kind of prep work did you have to do? Did they bring in some topsoil for you? Interested to hear what it takes to put down sod in your part of the world,......or did your yard have dirt down already, you just needed some grass?
We didn't put in sod, but we spent about three times as much on soil as we did on plants and trees. Beautiful plants & trees are cheap...but the stuff you put them in is like gold!
I would appreciate it if you could send me his name and contact information. I have tried to send you a PM twice but I think I'm doing something wrong as it doesn't show up as having been sent. Thank you in advance.
