I have a Sirius radio. I have used it in Cancun before with no problems. I actually got pretty good reception. The thing to remember is that you have to have a US address for the subscription. You can use it wherever you like, but the radio has to be based from a US subscription. The only other option is to subscribe for internet only service with Sirius. You pay a reduced cost and have online access from anywhere in the world. If you planned on using it for home use down there, that would be perfect.
XM or Sirius Radio I have been using XM for 5 years. Sirius will actually work better as the satellites move around from Canada to South America. XM has two satellites called "Rock and Roll" they are stationary in orbit. I have lots of XM Radios for your car and Home. Mike hodamayo@hotmail.com
We have it at Iki but the sound quality is really bad we prefer to use CD's or IpodĀ“s, huge difference.
XM od Sirius Radio Is your Antenna aimed for the best reception? You should be getting at 3 bars for the antenna in your House, If it is in your car it needs to be towards the center of the roof so the roof will act as a ground plane. You should also be seeing 3 bars as signal strength. 2ndly how is it going to the amplifier? Via Tape is the best, FM Modulator is the next best, if you are using it as wireless that is the worst sound it will reproduce. You may need to go into the settings and re-adjust. Call me I may be able to help you. Mike hodamayo@hotmail.com
It is in a Restaurant and it was set up by Sound System Specialists from Boes so I would like to think they know what they are doing. Thanks for the offer though.
