In what regard? I don't think it would be safe to walk there, but other then that, what are you worried about?

I went there saturday May 21st by myself & had no problem. I booked via Steve's link here on cancuncare. I did the combo tour to Xel-ha & Tulum. It was fantastic & worth every penny ($99). I chose saturday because weekends are less crowded-probably due to weekends being travel days for most. I was the only one going from Temptations, but the van picked up seveeral other folks from nearby resorts. The ride was comfortable & cool-no chit chat from the driver though. We went to Xel-ha first for about 5hrs and were left to wander on our own. The place is very clean & I believe very safe. Those that wanted to do the short Tulum tour met the van in the parking lot at a designated time & in minutes we were there. We had a guide for the first hour osr so, then we were left to wander on our own. That was great & I felt safe here as well. At no time during the trip were there pushy hawkers or suspicious looking characters. I highly recommend the tour. As with any travel in a foreign country, don't be naive, pay attention to your surroundings.
    Hope this helps!

Safe as long as you know how to swim and snorkel.
