We have been to Hedo in Jamaica three times this year. We were looking for an alternative place to go this November and were planning on making a reservation at Temptation this week. One of the reasons (but certainly not the only one) that we were disappointed with our last trip to Hedo II was that they required us (but not everyone) to wear wristbands day and night during our last stay. We had never encountered this at other places. It seemed to us reminiscent of an amusment park or high school dance. To our dismay, we joined and were reading this forum and saw that wristbands are required at Temptation. If this is true we will go elsewhere. Just wanted to confirm that we read it correctly. Are wristbands required to be worn at Temptation? Thanks
Wrist bands are worn through out cancun. It lets security know that you belong there. Without them they wouldn't have any way to know if people are just wondering in. So good luck on finding all inclusives that don't require them.
We have been to HII many times and we are in the process of booking our 4th trip to TTR for Feb. There really is a good reason to have wrist bands at TTR. HII is completely fenced in with guards at the enterences and at the beaches. We have never had to wear wrist bands while there either. I'm surprised they made you wear one. On the other hand, TTR has no fences. Anyone can walk in, but unless you have a wrist band you get no food, drinks, service etc. One thing you will get eventually is asked to leave. It really isn't any big deal to have one. Make sure you read a lot of the posts, past and present to decide if TTR is what you are looking for. It certainly isn' a Mexican Hedo. What it is is a fun time with a lot of great people.
Wristbands Thanks Hedoaddict. We've really only had one really bad experience at Hedo II and the wristband thing was just part of it and there were plenty of others who shared our feelings. I think we may have started reading in the wrong place because between all the timeshare discussion and the comments about wristbands and levels of service, watered drinks, etc. on this site it really doesn't make the place sound real appealing. We appreciate another perspective.
wristbands put it under your watch if you are worried about it lol xx I would wear a pink tutu and a pair of wellingtons if it meant i could stay at temptations... its the best resort for the friendliness and fun ... its like coming home every visit xx.. and believe me i have stayed at a lot of 5 star resorts all over the world....and stayed in tents too  but bbg or now temptations is the best
I have a feeling this is going to turn into "one of those threads" but HW4fun I have to take issue with your last comment. I think it could come off as a little bit condescending, although I hope not. I think you will find with any all inclusive in Cancun or really any location where there are many resorts close together that wristbands are common and a necessity as the hotels need a way to know who is staying at their hotels and not be feeding and watering the neighbours as it were. The different colours of wristbands typically differentiate those who have bought through a travel agent and those who have spent money on a timeshare. Obviously there are a few perks for the timeshare folks (albeit not extraordinary) and hence the reason they have to have a system in place. On the whole I am sure you would find the level of service to be quite good, although if you have a wait on hand and foot idea in your head Temptation may not be the place you want to go. There are creative ways around the wristband issue, I have known some people to get them on their ankles for example, but most people get used to it quite quickly. My wrist feels naked after it comes off at the end of the week! Some, especially those who go to the clubs, try to see how many they can collect over the course of their trip! I am not saying that this place is for everyone but if you want a good friendly "party atmosphere" this is about the best there is out there. If you are looking for a place that is more risque and "lifestyle" friendly then a place such as Hedo probably makes more sense. Hopefully you have a great vacation where ever you decide to go but as a friendly piece of advice try not to let an insignificant detail such as a wristband wreck your trip!
