For all the information available I'm finding it hard to find a website that is easy to use to get info about standings, matches and times. The official FIFA website is very confusing to me, not being familiar with football, and its ways. Can someone suggest another website, one that is more accessible to novices? I'm under the impression that England, the US, and Germany (the three teams in which I have the greatest interest) have all made it to the final eight. Is that true? Is it also true that the US and England will be playing each other? Who will Germany be playing, next?
Germany takes on England, Mexico goes up against Argentina, Ghana takes on USA and Uruguay against South Korea. The rest will be decided today(24th) and tomorrow(25th). For the local kick off time, you can have a look at TV AZtecas website(Copa Mundial de la Fifa Sudáfrica 2010 – aztecadeportes.com) It has a "game slide", so just play around with it and you will see. Very easy. It shows the local times and also what games are shown on regular TV Azteca(cable etc. not included..) There is also stats etc. "Primera fase" is the Group stage and then just click "Octavos de final" for the next round.
Ps. I havent missed a singe minute of any World Cup since 1990. Addicted? Thats certainly one way of putting it
V - check this out Calendar World Cup 2010 by MARCA.com just move your mouse over where it says "round of 16" and you'll have all the games. By far the best chart ever made!! Great result for the US yesterday (well deserved after another goal disallowed that was a goal!) - they have the easier side of the tournament to navigate now and have a chance to progress. I wish we had finished top and got that side - however what a route for us now, in order to win we have to face all our foes and really do it in style! (I hope!!!)
All the best to your team, Matkirk, and I hope they do well and keep it exciting for all of us! Thanks to you and Rawkus for the tips. I could get interested in this sport....
Trying to decide where to hang out for Friday's and Saturday's quarterfinals - La Tab, Caliente, The Cage...anyone hanging out and care to meet up?
@Mat: Haha, Slovakia! :rainfro: And BIG respect to NZ for staying unbeaten with a team consisting of club-less players and amateurs, damn! I liked your Marca link as well, bit it shows South African times only? Thats why TV Azteca`s is so convenient, hehe
World Cup info Rawkus, Matkirk, both those websites were terrific, and easy to understand, I'm set! Thanks, again! Copa Mundial de la Fifa Sudáfrica 2010 – aztecadeportes.com Calendar World Cup 2010 by MARCA.com
