OK Karen I know your gonna be reading this one so bring it. What your opinion? So my wife, Kellie, doesn't mind dressing up and cofidence is an issue generally so it doesn't always go too extreme beyond her comfort level. She does at times go beyond to please me and what I like to see. However the one constant is that she does NOT like heels. She says they are hard to walk and dance in, all around uncomfortable and you take them off half way though the night anyways. My argument is that they make the outfit, you do ONLY have them on for half the night and boosts her confidence because it makes her taller(as she is only 5'1"). Knowing the ideology of TTR and be comfy and confident and you will appear as sexy as anyone, how much of a fopaux would it be to weardressy flats or flip flop rather than heels, or wear some kind of heel but not tall, say a 2 inch heel? What are your ladies experiences and personal ideas on the matter?
A big question is, how sexy is a woman going to look if she is tottering around like a newborn deer...or bleeding from the scalp after falling over on the slippery tiles! I say comfort is a big part of feeling confident.
if she doesn't like heels, wearing them will make her less confident and not feeling sexy at all. Therefore I suggest she buys few pairs of dressy flip flops - I seen many ladies wearing nice flat shoes (with my short legs I try to get as much heel as I can bare walking in - lol)
20 minutes since this thread posted and Karen hasn't said anything. I thought she had a spidey-sense for shoes.
it is true that if you wear a heel that is to high you tend to feel like sitting.. lol because either you cant balance well on them or they just hurt your feet.. but not all heels are equal. its finding the right ones.. some heels feel like you could wear them all night for me its mostly the closed toe platform shoes and or a sexy boot not to high,. lol but the strapped string open-toe shoes are not comfortable .. and they really don't have to be 5 inch heels. I have several different size heels. its more about the support of the shoe for me as apposed to the heel.
I know for me, I simply cannot walk in heels. I've tried, with limited success all my life! I fall over quite often as well (both in or out of heels!), so I think it's just a problem with how I walk and balance. I'd love to wear heels but finally admitted defeat. For those of us who just can't do it, or doing feel comfortable, trying to persuade us to wear heels isn't going to improve the situation.
I'm going with heels. I do agree they make the outfit, however, how long I have them on my feet is questionable. So I say this....walk barefoot and carry the shoes to Patty O's. Just before you enter, put them on. Ta Da! You look great....now take em OFF! Geez, I can't walk to begin with, I can just imagine how it's going to be in heels. (For the record, I am bringing flats!)
I think she should wear what makes her comfortable. No one judges at TTR, at least not that I have ever noticed in my 5 years. Unless, of course, it is over a sour looking person who looks down on people having fun. With that said, I wear heels everywhere except the pool. But that is what I prefer. I have to practically bring a bag just for shoes.
for her it is about balance and comfort. She is ok in a boot and or heels that are 2" or less and have a good platform to stablize on. If it is like trying to stand on a pencil... forget it! Just curious if it is the type/brand she should be looking at or if there are secrets to wearing them to make em more comfy? All in all I want her to feel comfy and confident and finding the balance is difficult. She is< like I said, only 5'1" with a 24" inseam.... any help she can get on making the legs look longer she loves but not a the price of comfort. Just unsettling for her being around all of the "long legged" ladies that can/do rock the 3" plus heels and are able to strut around no prob.
BTW... where is Karen????? KAREN WHERE ARE YOU?? are you hiding in your pile of shoe there Imelda Marcos?
