Hi All. I have read in a few comments that folks were bringing boxed wine with them to TTR. Is wine not included with your stay? Is there another reason for bringing your own wine? Thanks!
A box is handy if you are going to kick back on the balcony or in the room. The selection and quality of the vino at the bars and restaurants is not the greatest. Blanco and tinto are the two choices. The bars run out of wine glasses quickly, and I don't think any vino is very good in a plastic cup.
The wine has been awful in the past. Recent posts have suggested it has increased dramatically in quality.
Last trip, last Nov/ Dec, the white wine was very palatable (can't comment on the red). I agree, we wouldn't drink it at Paty O's or the pool bars out of a plastic glass, but nicely chilled in a lovely large wine glass with delicious food, hard to beat! And yes, included. :daisy:
I thought the red was better in Feb than it had been in the past. As you can tell from our avatar it was my drink of choice! My hubby Will still thought it was awful!
The "free" wine there is terrible! I wouldn't pay for wine there because none of the wine they have is anything I have heard of and it really isn't the kind of place where the wine list is a concern. If you really love good wine, bring your own in a checked bag - Bota Box or Black Box are like Opus One compared to what they serve!
Thank you all so much for your responses! Looks like I will be bringing my own wine. Thanks for the suggestions on brands too!
No Rose...just white and red. It did improve since they got away from their "house" brand. If you're picky about wine...bring your own...if you're drinking it because you prefer wine over mexicain beer...then...well...it's there. I bring a couple bottles for dinners (my house brand of Amarone), but not for getting drunk on.
Says you! Your homemade stuff was great and I was seeing double. ( I'm pretty sure the 20 vodkas also had nothing to do with it)
