What's with all the wind at the beach this winter? March has been worse than Jan and we had a few nice days in Feb. We don't remember having winds this high for so long in winter (Feb and March) 2006. Forecast doesn't hold out much hope for a change any time soon.

Is the weather changing here too or is this normal and 2006 was unusual?

Anybody notice any weather patterns at the beach?

It's been very windy that's for sure!!

We were in Puerto Morelos on Saturday with some friends, and even though we were all sitting in the sun - some were in sweatshirts!!

I went to Puerto Morelos last weekend. It was sunny and warm at first, but around 3 or 4 pm the clouds kept rolling in. No more sun, and we were all freezing!!

Not a lot of wind necessarily, but it was very overcast and very chilly.

I guess winter is now ending, and spring beginning, but this year has seemed windier than I remember it being last year at this time. On the other hand, the weather in general has been very nice. For example, yesterday morning my wife and I took an early AM walk on the beach from Playa Chac Maal to the Westin Hotel, and it couldn't have been lovelier- sunny and warm, yet windy, with a high surf running. The scene was stunning, and reaffirming of life here, in spite of the wind. It was comfortable to go in shorts, and shirtless, even that time of day. A great many people had already responded to the call, and were out on the beach chairs in front of the hotels.
