I was planning on visiting TTR this year, as my last visit was prior to the new construction. I have fond, if not historic memories of the previous TTR (about 11 trips/7 years total). I've always visited as a non-member in the past and had nothing but accolades for TTR. Now I hear repetitive stories of the horrible Bash DJ/Music, $400 deposits, rude/pompous management, extremely limited seating for non-members, Upcharges for things that were common access before, and food quality that is mediocre at best. If these comments were coming from the type of reviewer who complained of the staff not speaking English, I would dismiss them. But they're not... I can now see why prices have dropped, as Upcharges have taken their place. I wish you all good experiences at the current TTR, I myself do not feel I will be missing anything compared to my previous experiences.
Nice first post. Before you leave, please give a hint where you are seeing prices drop? All I find are sellout weekends at ever increasing rates.
Still the best place on earth but if it’s not your thing we hope you find a place comparable to the old Temtation. That’s what makes Temptation great is the openness to be who you are and if it’s not your thing anymore then please go find somewhere that makes you happier!
It is true they do charge money for bottle service and dinner on the beach and a lobster dinner. Because people will pay for it. I personally would not and did not. You can go meet amazing people, have very good drinks and food and party your a$$ off with out spending extra. We went in June and will be back in August.
We just go to party, meet great people for a week and relax in the sun. Temptation serves that purpose for us. We're from Las Vegas, the inventor of the "up-charge." We see people ALL the time at clubs paying thousands for bottle service, at pools paying hundreds for cabanas and whatever else you can imagine. And still....my wife and I are the happiest people in the spot usually because we don't care or need all of that. We simply show up and we ARE the party in our own way. More times than not, we attract attention from others just because we give off a friendly and open vibe. Smiles and eye contact do wonders for fellow human beings. All you said is true but meh...not my resort and not my concern. You wanna buy a $130 bottle of Don Julio to look cool when several varieties of Tequilla are free at the bar? My wife and I will just float past you and feel sorry that you need to impress people that bad. Then, we'll float on over to the folks with the bubba mugs and standard cups and make them our friends instead. Life is too short to go through it angry and disappointed all the time. We're dismayed too sometimes that the demographic is changing to an "Im an influencer...look at me" vibe but that just means you spend a little more time meeting better people. Its not that tough at Temptation unless you make it that way.
We just got back and it's true, the vibe is steady changing every trip we take. We still love going and just hope the fad will wear off sooner than later. It seems the playmakers are going through some regrowing pains, but the ones that are there are working harder than ever to make it an amazing experience. The restaurant staff is still as friendly and accommodating as every trip we've taken. It was honestly a little heart breaking to see the drug dealers have been pushed off the beach and into the resort; not to mention they have free rein of the hotel complete with BS bracelets. The influencer crap is a bit out of hand; there was one guy that kept filming events and was told time and time again to knock it off. But even with all the little changes between trips, we still meet new friends every trip and have an awesome time.
We agree with Dee_N Cee, We were there this past May for our 3rd trip. Although the demographics have certainly changed, too many single men etc. we did have a great time. We could of done without the crazy cameras/selfies in the pool area... WTF. We go to meet the sexy fun loving couples with friendly smiles, drinks from the bar, we have chairs on the big wooden deck where we burn our feet! We'll be back in October for Wicked Eden Tower Take Over 15th - 22nd, hope to see you all there! And YES, the restaurant staff is fantastic!! The food, well.. the drinks are cold
I love these people who join then complain then leave cracks me up good riddance to ya Temptation is better off without you
