There have been so many negative threads lately focused on the perceived negatives of the resort. Well I would like to put out there why I love it even with some flaws. 1) The people, and let me expand on that with TTR not being a five star fancy hotel it is firstly affordable for everyone secondly it makes those people who might not fit in due to a sense of entitlement or what ever you want to call it, pass the resort by. That makes it more fun for the rest of us commoners who don't really like airs and grace and listening to complaints about every little thing. The people of TTR are generally fun easy going people who love life for what it is and what they have. 2) The staff, the people are amazing top to bottom from the heights of Oliver to the lesser known guys like Pedro handing out wash cloths in the unisex bathroom. 3) The relaxed atmosphere, I don't have to dress up and pretend to be some one else I can be me and behave as I like to, and people accept you for that with out judgement. 4) The rooms love them they are all we need, I'm in the room six hours a day max, sleeping or reading the bible. I like the fact I'm not spending hard earned cash on a room I'm not using. 5) Resort layout, we love the small compact layout everything is within a four minute walk, no elevators to wait for open air and a balcony for every room ( smoker here) 6) The food, freaking love it. We do the ala cartes every night, buffet breakfast (mmmmm bacon and fresh eggs) and Margarita's for lunch. And of course patty O's burgers before bed. Probably better than the stuff we pay wayyyy more for back home. 7) The sexy pool, the games the camaraderie from everyone there young or old we talk and mingle and meet new people daily. Every day at the pool you find yourself saying "did you see that" Always a good time ( Apparently they play bad music have not noticed, not what I'm there for) 8) Party Time at Patty O's!!!! Un freaking believable every night is a blast I have never been to so many amazing parties with the themes and the amount of participation. Can you really say you get to party like that anywhere else, every night under the stars....even in the rain always a night to remember. 9) The atmosphere, it feels like coming home. I always thought the bar Cheers was such a cool concept. Now we get to live it every time we come back we run in to old friends new friends the staff everything. We love it we feel at home. 10) Cancuncare, never would of found it, never would of met so many amazing people and really never would of kept in constant contact with so many of those fine people if it were not for Steve and Janet and the rest of the community. From the original founding fathers of the site (Marshe, Doc and Nurse and all the others we have yet to meet) to those joining today. TTR is something special, all of you repeaters have felt it and love it also, or you would not of returned. I always find I can never do it justice when telling friends about it. They all say though from the smile on my face it must be amazing. THE END. Tell us what YOU like I could go on for ever but lets see what I missed in your opinion.
fabulous post, exactly what i have always thought and we have never actually stayed there yet! just visited:uk1:
Reviews like this is what really makes TTR sound like our kinda place to go and have fun and be ourselves and somewhere we would come back to and we havnt been a first time yet that's not till january,,
I have to admit that last January was our first time at the resort and we were a bit skeptical on what to expect, we went for a week and had the best time of our lives, met some pretty awesome people, the staff were wonderful, and the food was no different than at home in our views, hence why we are returning this January for 2 weeks. Yes TTR could use upgrade in some areas to keep up with the changing times but then again, if they changed to match up with other resorts out there I believe everyone would find something to complain about that as well, cost being the first complaint I am sure. They are not gonna please everyone and people will leave to go else where for their own personal preferences. I do find it interesting that other resorts are beginning to adapt the TTR concept though...so with that said TTR must be doing something right.
Very well said, we couldn't agree more. I will find it very hard to believe that another resort can recreate the vibe and comfortable setting that TTR creates. (maybe with a few years of experience they can come close) With out a doubt, TTR is improving, we've been there 6 times since 2010 and can see improvements happening. We are close to many staff members, besides all the theme shopping, Lisa now has to shop for gifts for the staff! What I feel we love the most is the Sensual atmosphere that can convert the everyday workaholic into a carefree swinger (not in the sexual sense) I will try and add to Sam & Robins list a few things they have not touched on 1. The giddiness that we feel at home secretly talking about the things we do in Mexico 2. The way we feel about each other after our trips. We have always had a strong relationship, but this closeness has brought this to a new level 3. The entire wardrobe that is hid in the closet that is only worn at TTR. 4. Relationships that are made from close friends.. Like finding yourself rooting for the Dukes when you don't even follow college basketball. 5. Besides the people from Cancuncare, the other amazing people that are there. Lisa is a "Social Whore" and she is in her glory. For example, sending a shy couple off to their room with a can of AIWC... and never seeing them again! 6. and this one goes out to Sam.... Jello wrestling!!! Can't wait for the rematch:huepfen013: We will be back many more times!!! Paul & Lisa
We've said it before, and we'll never quit saying it: It's the absolute most fun you can have with 20% of your clothes on. We'd been to Hedo 3 times prior to trying TTR, and while we never say never, chances are we'll never go back to Hedo for all the reasons listed above, and then some. ...Jan.23rd can't get here soon enough...:lotsofmichaelfs:
Great post and thank you for posting it. We will be going to TTR for our first time in February and have read lots and this just makes us even more excited.
Great post, Sam and Robin (by the way, who is who?). I especially like how you say it feels like coming home, because we say that every time we go. We love the first time we see our favorite bartenders (and wait staff, and bell boys), and they're faces light up with smiles because they recognize us.
