Just wanting to know who still post here that are members and why you joined, I was happy again with our membership until a few days ago, then they fired Melisa and then I heard the AI fee had gone way up for next year!

Just when it seems like it's a great deal they change it, the contract says says subject to change

Why in the world would you sign a contact that's subject to change??? Doesn't that defeat the point of a contract?

Ive always wondered why you "prepay" and then have to pay more every time you stay there? I had a time share years ago and we paid an up front sum, then paid a $200 a year maintenance fee.
Lets say I paid $6000 up front. Lets say I use 7 days a year for the next 10 years. Thats 70 days total. 6000/70=$85. so Ive already paid $85 a night, and then they want me to pay another $60-70 a night when I stay there? Im now back up to roughly $140 a night, which is so far, about what we've been paying without a contract. And that $60-70 bucks a night is going to go up, just like non members prices will go up.

    So wheres the savings?

Then again, I could have it all wrong.........

4 trip and we've yet to let them talk to us at all. I work in sales so I know all the "tricks", last trip we listened over breakfast to their pitch to a couple beside us, took everything I had not to lose it on the guy. Greasy greasy greasy. Guys like that give honest sales guys a bad name.

From what we gather - the 20% rate increase for 2014 is unprecedented.

Yes rates go up, but generally a few bucks a year or 2-4%.

    • No annual maintenance fees
    • No limit to when or how many days/weeks you can use per year

I would have told anyone that went a lot to join, that it a worth it for a smaller package, but if they increase the AI rates at the rate they are going, it's not worth it. Our rates are suppose to be based on the rack rates, how many 2 to 3 star resort have gone up that much?

Well the good news is it looks/sounds like GOV is going to be stiff competition for Temp. That should mean a nice face-lift (already rumored) and lower prices. Hopefully GOV take a good bite out of their profits to give them a wake up call. :brick:
