Expedia? CheapCaribbean.com? Direct? Do you book with them based on price or are there other factors to consider? Any advice would be appreciated
I would say all depends where your from and what you need. alpharooms tends to be best room only most of the time. apple and funjet are good from some markets, and the big sites can sometimes run great promos too.
Can Americans use Alpharooms for hotel and airfare? Cant seem to figure out how to get a quote for that because it always asks for UK airports. Do most people book airfare and hotel together? Seems to be a pretty good discount to do so.
Americans can use Alpharooms, but you'll need to click hotel only (and find your flight elsewhere) also remember to set the price in Dollars and not Pounds. A lot of people use air miles or frequent flyer points etc for their flights. If you can do that or have access to cheap fares it often works out cheaper to book air and hotel separately.
We used Expedia.ca as they had the best overall price. Flying from northern Ontario is very pricey. Local travel agent couldn't match price.
The past few years we found our best price on Orbitz on Black Monday. We have used Apple and Funjet in the past. This year, Orbitz is not showing a non-stop flight. We are spoiled and used to flying non-stop out of St. Louis (2.5 hours to paradise). Apple is offering a non-stop but the price is a lot more than Orbitz.
Flying from Minneapolis booking an ocean view room the lowest price you will find is from Expedia with decent flights.
