Need your input - I will be getting my third tattoo in October. Got my first one in '96 on my ankle (rabbit) and second one in '01 on my lower back (Cancun sunset & palm tree). For my third tattoo I am thinking of my nickname in Ancient Chinese symbols, so it won't be very big. The question is .... where?
I think something like that looks good near the top of a womans pelvic bone. Right at the top of where the waistband of a bikini would be, off-center between the navel and your hip. With a tattoo there, you can easily hide it, or let it show with a shorter shirt or lower pants. Another spot I like is just below the top of the breastbone right in the middle. That would be pretty hard to hide most of the time for women though. But if youre not concerned about hiding it, thats another story. If youre feeling real adventurous.....the underside of the wrist is another great spot. For the record, I have 8 and I take the placement of all of mine very very seriously. Its a good thing that youre really thinking about where you want it. Too many people get impulse tattoos that look like shit and they end up hating them.
No, it is the nickname only my husband calls me. I think after 20 years together I'm safe doing it! Besides, it is a nickname that suits me, I think, but sorry I ain't sharing it with you all as it is very special & sacred to me. Well, it is a little corny too! But the Chinese version of it looks very nice.
I'm thinking of getting a tatoo too. I reallt like tatoos that run up the spine starting about mid back. I might also get one on my left butt cheek. Maybe thats a good place for yours too.
Someone at work just gave me too crazy of an idea! Why not wait until we are in Cancun and and "zip" over to Miami and go to the "Miami Ink" tattoo shop (as seen on TLC) and get a wildly fantastic tattoo done there? Is this really crazy or are there really cheap flights from Cancun to Miami?!? The tattoo would be ridiculously expensive ... but worth it!
I have mine in the middle of my shoulder blades and have rec'd a lot of compliments on it........its easy to show and its easy to hide.....I prefer it on the upper body compared to "above the butt" which is the popular spot right now!
Just don't do that unless its on your way home. Keeping a tattoo that is healing out of the sunlight is very very important.
I've got 10 and their placed all over. I personally don't like seeing tats on womens arms tho. Just my opinion. We both just got new tats and as someone else said, becareful with the sun light. We got out last week so they would be healed intime for Oct trip.
i agree with lambert13. my friend recently got her name in chinese symbols on the inside of her wrist and it looks really good. asides from that, i'd go with the hip
