First time visiting.... I reserved a deluxe room, requested a king bed. Asked for near the pool, but away from disco. What area does that put me in? I found a "resort map" online...looking at all the different room numbers but it doesnt give descriptions.
The basic rooms are called "Deluxe" rooms. Then you go up to a deluxe ocean view room which gives a partial ocean view. As for the pool, which pool did you request, the quiet pool or the sexy pool? Just whatever you do don't let them put you in a room facing the boulevard. Those suck!
You can ask them to give choice, or show it before you say yes. I asked for quite room or any room with nice view doesn't matter if quite or not. They gave me 2301, it have a partial view of ocean, little loud in night because it is next to patyo (night loud music till 2AM) . But i liked it. As said earlier don't take room facing the main road. If you need quite night sleep, then near quite pool. If you like to party and don't mind music, then near pattyo or sexy pool.
All rooms do. Ground floor has walkout patios and upper floors have balconies. Coincidentally, the balconies are great for putting on, or watching, a balcony show. :icon_wink:
And, in case you are curious about balcony shows, check out this thread. http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/temptation-resort-cancun/29906-balcony-shows.html
I may be mistaken but other than the first floor rooms around the quiet pool (Jacuzzi rooms), and the rooms at the ends of the buildings directly facing the ocean (Temptation Suites), the rest of the rooms at the resort are either deluxe or deluxe ocean view.....The difference being, that if you can go on the balcony and by any means bend over the railing, look around or over a tree, or have any hint of water they will call it a deluxe ocean view.....All others are deluxe. I wouldn't worry too much. If you don't like the room they give you at first I have heard by pretty much everyone that they will move you to another room. I would take advantage of whoever offers to assist you with your bags and if you get to a room you don't like, head right back with them to the front desk.
I wouldn't think too much on room location...with the exception of those around Paty 'Os. Jamie is way too sound sensitive at night to deal with the noise...even though we're usually up late making most of the noise. When we checked in, I recognized the room # as one around Paty 'Os, so I asked for a 5000 block room instead, and we get 5343 - a nice ocean view room overlooking the courtyard. We didn't mind the 3rd floor location...some might though. We spend no time in the room unless we're sleeping, showering, getting ready to party or watching channel 12...so location doesn't mean much to us.
