This week at home as well as in Cancun calls for a lot of rain. It got me thinking about previous trips. Not going until July, but I have run into days where the clouds gathered and rained everyone back to their rooms.

What to do? Is this when you make your trip into town for souveniers? Break out a game of some kind? Gather a crowd for strip poker?

Just interested in a few ideas for rainy day options.

Stay in the pool just make sure your drink container has a cover so it doesn't get watered down.

When it's wet outside. We make it wet inside.

This is my third trip, all in July. The first time I went (2013) we had some pretty serious rain on several days, with stiff wind and lightning. Oddly enough if you are rained out of the pool and it is windy and rainy, it will even feel cold in July. I've had to carry myself inside from the balcony because sitting out there in just swimsuit felt cold as ice. Then it quits, the sun comes out and it's like a sauna. The extremes can change quickly. I'm at least hoping for a few fans in the Paty-O's area in the evenings. I heard they had put a few in there after I went last in 2014. That place gets STICKY!!!

We were there during Hurricane Bill forming right over the Yucatan peninsula. We had a member of our group offer their suite to move the party to. It turned in one of the greatest days of any trip to TTR. The second day the wind and rain let up some and we took out to Diegos bar at the sexy pool and also had a blast. It all about the people, they make the party, rain or shine.

Unless they make you get out... the pool can be just as fun. Different, but totally fun. Its what you make it, make it great.
