I was just wondering if anyone had any idea when any company plans to offer anything faster than the 5mb Telcel offer? I am currently on 2mb but I am being told I am probably going to need to work fully remotely including using programs like Photoshop across the web, so that everything is stored in one central place instead of constantly uploading and downloading files. What I do at the moment is do most of my work here on my machine and then send it up. Using logmein.com I can work on a machine in the states but there is a serious lag time, so much that if you are viewing say a folder of images it can take 30 seconds to change the image on screen!! With this in mind I can't envisage being able to work with 2gb files on photoshop unless there is a dramastic change in the internet speed available and I'd say that even if I fork out the scandalous 1000 pesos a month to be on 5mb (currently in the UK you can get a 50mb connection for under 400 pesos a month with Virgin) I still wouldn't be able to work without major lag, something that makes the whole exercise of saving time by not uploading and downloading files worthless. Please tell me Slim has said he's releasing up to 20mb over the next year because from what little i understand from the Mexican papers, i've not heard anything, has anyone else or does anyone know of any competition that is planning to offer faster speeds or a solution to my problem? Thanks in advance.
