We booked our Trip to BBG last week. Now we have some friends that want to join us and the rates have gone up from $400.00 to $600.00, depending on flights and travel agency. The same agency we booked through last week the rate has gone up 400.00 usd. Does anyone know how rates flucuate throughout the season. Should they wait and see if they go down or book now before they rise again?
We've ran into the same problem, some friends were going to come but the tickets are outrageous. I think they use a dart board every morning to determine what the price is going to be......our friends can't afford to come down to BBG with us..........yet.
Well we sure hope they start throwing darts to the low end of the board. We booked last week and actually got the same price we payed last year but are staying a day longer so we were really pleased with the price. When our friends showed interest and started checking rates they told us it was so much higher then I checked ours again and it had gone up. Originally I dont think they would have had a problem with the higher fare, but now they just dont want to pay 400.00 more for the same trip. Well hopefully they will go back down soon. Well either way were gonna be there and ready to party with you guys!
Yup, the rates are crazy right now. Package deals/charters seem like the only way to get a decent price. Good luck.
You were pretty lucky to get such a good deal. Our trips have been steadily going up since the early part of 2006. Relying on commercial airlines can be challenging and costly. Flying out of STL to Cancun we have Funjet and USA3000 that fly direct and cheap. Having friends go the same time as you can be tricky, as traveling a week or so earlier or later can really change the price of a trip.
WE booked before Christmas, we never book flights alone they are more expensive that wwy. We booked through Apple vacations this year. It was 200 cheaper this year for us. We booked through CheapCarribbean.com last year. We go with whoever is on sale at the time. It is cheaper to book all inclusive through either, vacationexpress, applevacations, cheapcarribbean, funjet, and there has been a couple of others. alot of times you look on the internet and it says one price but if you get the travel agent or yourself to call it will be cheaper. Usually the prices will go up after the first of the year. I would say to keep checking because usually it will go up and down. sometimes you can book it and take out a insurance thing that if it goes on sale you get a refund. Don't give up. Right now you have time to reserve it with a deposit and don't have to pay the balance until the middle to end of March!
Flying out of Denver, i've found that the prices can vary significantly depending on your days of travel with tues. and wed. being the cheapest! George
I keep checking every day, mind you we are not going until September, but you never know when the flights will go on sale......flying out of Chicago I have a few options, but none the less, I would keep checking!!! Freezzzzzing my arse off in Illinois!!!!
That's one of the problems with trying to get a group to go. Some will commit right away and get the good rates, others hem & haw over it, then end up missing out on a great rate. I no longer even try to put together a group. I book my trip, email everyone what I paid, when I'm going, and tell em to book it if they want to join me or forever hold your peace. Michelle
Agree with Michelle ! I do the same. Book when I get a great rate, and let the others decide if they want to come along.
