Whats the story behind your username?

Why did you pick the user name you did for this site? Is it personal to you, related to Cancun or TTR in some way, related to another aspect of your life??

For me, last year while in Cancun I was shopping for monkeys made out of wood. I just love monkeys!!
When I would say that I am looking for "monos de madera" the vendors (and i mean probably every one I asked - 15-20 or more!!) would not understand my accent!! So my bf would have to jump in and save me by saying "changos de madera". "chango" is slang for monkey in spanish. :icon_biggrin:

 

Mine is a mixture of my name and the name of a pop group who were just about the only thing vaguely famous to come out of the town I was living in at the time - that and it was short enough for an e-mail address for people to not get too far wrong! It's Jim, the pop group was XTC from a town called Swindon in the UK.

 

Of Mexican beer I do have a soft spot for Dos Equis so that's how mine came about.

I live vicariously through myself lol!

 

We are just too much trouble for most people, hints the name.

Same as many others a combination of our names. Jessica and Ed Jess n Ed for short.

 

Well ... I've used this name for 16 years now and it wasn't my idea ... sort of. For those who are geeky enough to remember when IRC was THE thing to do on the internet; back then I was an IRC addict. I mainly lived on ChatNET and NewNET ... my favorit channel being #padded_cell (lol, it fits!). I was pretty young then and wanted an edgy name so I tried to use "Incinerator" however IRC had an 8 character limit with names, so it displayed as "Incinerat" ... everyone just called me rat. Well, I was pretty crazy in my youth ... which reflected in IRC quite well .. soo much that one of the admins said "rat ... you are soo nutty .. HEY! you should be nuttyrat!" .... and so my nick was born.

Not only is it my handle on forums, but its also my DJ alias and my gamer handle. Doesn't matter what I do, I can't get rid of this name. There are people I know who call me nutty and don't even know my real name!

Not that exciting I know ... but hey at least its different!
