Whats the best form of currency to use?

Hi guys, Just wondering what the best form of currency for me to use would be? Mexican Peso's or US dollars? Thanks

 

I bring US dollars and exchange some into peso's while I`m there.

 

Like Redz said... The US dollar is well accepted but if changed is given back..It will most likely be in pesos...

That's a good point. i'll try and pay the exact ammount when using US dollars to avoid calculating the exchange rate.

 

Grande_cojones..I do the same but what change i do have at the end..I just leave for a tip on top of my regular tip to the maid!!:icon_lol:

Bring Peso's, you get a better exchange rate from the UK, only slightly but hey your in Mexico.

You will get approx 1.5 US dollar to the £, and you get 18.5 peso to the £, and you will get about 9 peso to the $, when the $ was stronger against the £ it was better to bring $, not so at the moment though

 

alot easier just to stick to the dollar- we use the 10 to 1 ratio just to keep things simple. after all it is vacation time and there will be booze involved. we take about $25 per day in $1 bills just for tipping around the resort and use trv checks in $50s and $100s. never a problem in 11 trips. the trv cks avoids the counterfeit problems. also make sure all the bills are like new condition- torn, worn or even wrote on bills can not be used by the local guys.
