hi there, we will be going to TTR for the first time in feb. we're just wondering what do people wear to the restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner? we notice that there is a dress code of no sandals,no shorts,no t-shirts,no jeans. is this the same for breakfast as we dont want to look out of place and turn upto breakfast in shoes, trousers and a shirt lol thanks in advance
for breakfast and lunch t is pretty much a come as you are kinda deal at the "open" restaurants. The dress codes are for the sit down reservation restaurants. Breakfast and lunch both female and males have to have a top and bottoms on along with some kind of footwear. I have seen women get away with coming into the mex rest with sheer and mini bikini tops on but I am not sure if it was regulation or not. The Italian and Asian places a little different bag. You hit the nail on the head with the dress code. However, I have seen MANY people not adhere to the code and still make it in without incident. However they wear not looked at to favorably. The women coming in were almost always dressed to the nines and looking sexy as hell sometimes in very skimpy sexy lil things others just in a very beautiful dress. The least the guys can do is put on a decent pair of pants a dress shirt and some shoes to compliment the ladies and their efforts.
breakfast is a definite no worries as most people are still just waking up and half drunk from that morning. Lunch.... well breakfast is generally lunch. But if you are up early enough for both lunch, just slip on your shorts and a t-shirt/tank top and you are golden
Another thing to note, men don't need to have sleeves for lunch at Margarita's, but you do need sleeves for dinner there.
I have worn all of those things to the restaurants at various things. If you don't look like a scumbag, you'll, or your man, wil be fine.
We found out you cannot go into Margaritas for lunch with wet shoes - they don't like that so much! My husband wore jeans and/or shorts to the nicer restaurants at night with no problem, he did wear a nicer shirt and I usually wore a dress or sarong to dinner. I think the dress code is there to give an excuse for removing someone who is clearly not dressed appropriately, but I have never seen it enforced as rigidly as it is stated. Don't be a dick or jerk as a guy, tip the people in the restaurant up front, and don't look like you just got out of the pool, and I'm sure it is ok
The Fox is right. I've never been stopped from going into one of the restaurants wearing my khaki shorts, nice sandals, and nice button-up short-sleeve (bolwing style) shirts. I HAVE seen an asshole wearing a jacket be barred. You figure it out.
I think after reading all of this Ill pack a nice pair of pants , dress shirt, dress shoes for the evenings, Id hate to be refused at the door for sporting jeans and a nice top.
Sounds perfect, us ladies like to see a nicely turned out man! And as a note of caution to the ladies, last month there was a new Maitre D at the Italian restaurant, Edgar (very grumpy man!) who refused me entrance one evening even though I was dressed up to the nines in a very expensive dress and killer heels! The dress was semi-sheer, and if you stared hard enough at chest level you may have been able to see a little! And I thought we were at Temptation and not Disneyland. The next night I went to the Asian in a dress that left very little to the imagination and had no problems! My advice - carry a cover-up just in case!
