I think everyone's interpreting this a little differently, but here are some suggestions:

Definitely beads. Beads are currency. You use them to get favors. Dangle good beads, get a good flash...or whatever clever thing you might ask for. Here is Todd "bartering:"

Body paint. Lots of bars and street kiosks will body paint women on the spot.

Crazy hats. Parade watchers wear them to get the attention of the guys on the floats who are throwing beads. Collect enough beads off the floats, and you're all set for step 1.

Crazy costumes and T-shirts. The shops are notorious for their shirts. "F* you, you f*ing f*" is a classic. Classic costumes include the portable mammogram machine (box in front of your face with boob-shaped cut-outs)

Purple, green, and gold are the official colors. Sparkly and feathery is not just for the girls, either!

No need for Walmart (shouldn't you be in bed nursing that cold, anyway?) We're bringing at least two dozen masks and a bunch of beads, and Saywhn and Slopoke are also bringing some stuff to share. You're covered!

Todd's trying to decide between three different ideas for this one. Mardi Gras is all about anything goes, so you guys should wear whatever puts you in the best mood to have fun. But masks are hot, so feel free!
