So I booked through RCI for April 3rd- 10th but now I am getting airfare and it is almost $1000 cheaper for us to leave on the 11th. when I called to see if I could extend a night at Temptation, she said they are full. But when I look at other web sites it says they are still available. I dont really want to have to pack up everything just to move to another hotel for our last night. SOOOOOO- do you think I should just book it on another site or find a different hotel?
also- has anyone gone through RCI before there?I know it includes a free transfer there and upgrade to ocean view.
They could be "full" because rooms have been pre-sold to the travel sites you have checked. You may be able to book your extra night through one of them. Good luck and see you there
We booked in through RCI on our first trip to BBG in 2008. Got some of the owner perks . Can't see us doing it again as it is cheaper to go through some of the travel sites and the perks did not amount to that much. However they did give us a jacuzzi room at no extra cost as they were all torn up in the conversion to TTR. . Going through Skoosh this time.
RCI booking perks We boooked through RCI last year, below is from theRCI website with resort details for Temptation. We did get a very nice room overlooking the sexy pool and ocean. You also checkin at the RCI office not the main lobby. They give you a voucher for Xcaret Park if you prepay the week which we thought was a nice place, you need to pay for transport to get there (about $80 on bus tour) but its all day excursion well into the night. We left Xcararet on our own by cab at 3pm. Website info. If staying more than 6 nights miniumum, includes 1 tour, US$35 spa coupon per adult, ocean view guarantee and airport to hotel transfer. Confirm www.tamptationresorts.com/transfer.asp If prepay all-inclusive package, get 2 free tickets to Xcaret Park. Call free 877-464-8641. Xcaret tickets available only for 5 or 7 night stay; make payment 7 days prior to arrival date.
I have used Skoosh and Cheap Carribean. Both companies worked perfectly. This year Skoosh was much cheaper when we went. I recommend either. We went in February, the rooms through Skoosh, for seven days, were $1226 (US). Airfare added about another $900, an affordable vacation and a lot of fun was had.
I would book the airfare that left on the 11th. Worst case scenario would be to party all day at TTR on the 10th and move to some other hotel that night. Sounds like full is full, however I am sure there are plenty of other options in Cancun. I agree about hating to pack up and move for one night, but I think I could do it for $1000. Make sure the flight schedule is reasonable for the cheaper flight.
That could be exactly the case, ive seen that occurance happen a few times...I would advice she try one of those sites at a cheap rate also, then if it goes through and she books, worst case scenario they send you to Blue Bay Club for the last night but with all the transfer and everything via the hotel..
