So, we had a June 26 ~ July 4 trip to DRM planned. It was going to be a big deal. THere were a total of 4 couples going almost exactly the same time and another couple with some crossover. Then... Whoops! Southwest Airlines isn't resuming flights to/from Texas to Cancun until July 1. A bit too late. So, cancel that one, kick it down the road to 2021 as it's paid for, and look around for something else to do. So, we came up with a trip to Arizona, visiting Stacia's #2 BFF & her husband, a cool guy who is responsible for my beginning to walk the bourbon trail. We fly to Phoenix, stay there that night and get up the next morning and go to Flagstaff, visit there a night, then to Sedona, and then a day down to the Grand Canyon. Next morning, hop on a plane and head to Daytona Beach to hang out with #1 BFF and her new man, another cool guy but he's struggling to keep the blushing under control when boobs come out, but still. What did you change your plans to?
I read your threads and posts as entertainment to help pass the time. And laugh often! As you know, we still plan on visiting TTR June 13-20 unless something changes. We switched from SW to American with good non-stop flights out of DFW. Flying SW up the night before, will visit son and friends and then head to airport hotel for flight. Same on the way back. Then Motley Cru, Pouson, Joan Jett, concert on Sunday. Added a trip in Sept...labor day as a backup...now an addition if June cancellation. And immediately off to NOLA for charity fundraiser, with some other TTRers. Also have Halloween trip on the books. This as long as country/world reopening continues as planned and no setbacks. And as long as one of us does not obtain or become consumed by C-19! Slso
Nope, United is flying, but the decision point came and the other 4 couples all opted for kick it down the road instead of changing up everyone's flights... and we didn't know at the time how the refund/cancellation thing was going to work. It turns out that it's OK, but the other folks had some folks who are just wanting "to not go" due to the pandemic.
