What are the "need to bring items" . We are first timers to TTR, headed down to 9/3 for ten days. At other resorts, things like large drink cups, floats, beach towels and bug spray were recomended.

Definately take a Bubba Keg or similar for the pool. Towels are provided, we never had problems with bugs last September so didn't need spray.

However, if you forget anything there is a big Walmart in Cancun

For sure bring a insulated mug, our travel agent supplied some and they were great to have, don't forget a camera (only take pics of yourselves and people you meet there) and don't forget your gear for lingerie night!

We brought mugs but they weren't any bigger than 16-20 ounces, you really won't need any bigger as they only give you 2 drinks at a time. Maybe 24 ounces but that's about it. Also, we did bring our own towels. They were easy to locate as they really stood out from all of the other towels. Also, we didn't have to worry about having someone take them by accident or forgetting to return the towels and then get charged for them.

Bring a hat if the sun gets the best of you.

Guys need to remember to bring slacks and shoes for the Italian and Asian restaurants.

Bring your athletic shoes if you want to take advantage of the walking path along the street.

Pack something for both of you to wear for Casino/lingerie night.

A great attitude is the most important thing to bring!

We brought ibuprofen and an 8-pack of Gatorade powder singles (it's like a little 4 oz box) and it definitley helped us rehydrate on those days when we over indulged on sun & alcohol.

I took a bottle of lime juice for the Dos XX's in the room and one of those waterproof necklaces for cash on the booze cruise.
