Everyone seems to talk about how difficult it is to get dinner reservations at the a la carte restaurants at the resort. So my question is, is there a time of the evening that seems to be easier to get a reservation? Obviously on the day that we fly in, we won't have reservations, and I'd rather not eat at the buffet, so I'm trying to see what time frame will give us a better chance of getting seated.
The evening's activities/shows are usually at 9 PM; thus 7ish is a popular dinner time. 6 is kind of early to eat; the later reservation time slots, 8:30 to 9:30 fill up last, probably because they mean you'll miss the evening entertainment.
The Italian and the Asian restraunts are the only ones that needed reservations when we were there in Feb. . The other 2, you could walk up in the evening and get seated or get on a list, which was usually short. Even if you don't arrive in time to get reservations, you can try to walk up and see if there were cancellations at the Ital or Asian, ( I have heard that a special handshake ($5) works as well but I have never tried it) to get a table. Even at 100% full there were always empty tables. As a last resort the buffet isn't that bad for a few days if the schedule doesn't work out. Larry
