My wife and I are planning our first trip to Temptations and are getting very excited about the vacation. I have read about the timeshare speech and was wondering what you guys have been offered for sitting through it. I have sat through one for a different resort before and have no problem saying "no." I wouldn't mind doing it, if I could be done in around an hour and get a free couples massage or something out of the deal. Let me know what any of your experiences have been, bad or good, and what you have been offered for your time. Also, does the staff treat you any different if you do say "no." Thanks everyone and we can't wait to get down there.
I sent my representative instead - his name is Heywood Jablome. Seriously, we blew them off - no interest in buying, no point in the time waste.
I would say a majority ignore it and dont want to waste valuable vacation time, although i have talked to some people that have taken it cuz they offered 100 bucks or some kind of perk, it usually changes, but if it was cash, then heck I may even do it again lol, thats a night out at coco bongo or a dinner at the steak house across the street or close to paying for a booze cruise..... its a judgement call I would say
We have been paid up to $100 for sitting thru the presentation, although they gave our daughter and bf half off almost nothing last summer. We are members, however there is no way that I would recommend buying in at this time. If you are going to do the tour/presentation, be sure to get a decent gift verified in advance and say no whenever you are tired of listening. Don't worry about pissing off the Premier sales staff. They get it every day and don't take it personally. Actually I don't think it would be possible to piss them off. The sales staff has absolutely nothing to do with the entertainment staff.
We almost bought a package...............the price is pretty good. You can get them for around $5K. We have a number of friends that are premier members so we'll just get our weeks from them. When you are given or buy a week from a premier member you get the same perks that they get........
They hassled me until I went to talk to her, I sell luxury cars and ripped her a new one once she turned up the heat. That was the only negative person on the whole resort.
Plain and simple from our first visit we have told them NO and have never sat through it. I have met lots of people who got talked into it, and all of them say they got lied to and the presentation was HOURS long, not 90 minutes or whatever they say. We do a ton of traveling and timeshares is just not one thing we will ever buy. Good luck!
We said no and showed them our receipt at check-in at TTR. Our price was much cheaper than the premier AI rate. We sat through one at another resort, a few years ago, knowing what we were doing. It was raining that morning and when the sun came out we left the tour. The look of the sales people was priceless as we told them from the start that we were not going to buy, we just wanted a tour of the new resort. It was a sister resort and we thought about spending some time there that week. They always forget to tell you that the AI fees are extra. I feel sorry that they have that job to do to pay the bills.
Unless you are getting a few free nights (like we did, we paid for 1 night and stayed 5 total, but that was a prebooked package that i won in a contest here in FL), I wouldnt do it if you dont intend to buy....why waste 3 or 4 hours of your precious vacation time just to get a free massage and have to deal w/ high pressure sales?
