    All -

I've looked on the websites and read several threads on what buildings to stay in ...but...

Can you give me an idea if it really makes sense to upgrade from a Deluxe Garden Room to a Partial Ocean, Jacuzzi Room, or Temptation Suite. To upgrade - the cost I'm being quoted is $54 extra per night for the Ocean, $108 for the Jacuzzi, and $162 for the Temptation Suite. Again - these are all per night additional. Seems high from an incremental spend on top of what you're paying already...

Has anyone gotten cheaper upgrade rates at check in ? Is it worth these costs per night incremental in your opinion ?

I'd love your feedback ...we're going down from 12/4 - 12/12 ... so I'd assume occupancy ( and price ) would be lower prior to the Holidays.

    Thanks for your help

Personal opinion but we do not think the upgrade is worth it -

For a view of the Ocean, walk to the ocean - its winter time and dark at 5pm with the sun setting at 3:30pm. Not a whole lot of "viewing" to be done. You can always walk to the beach at night, grab a bed and sit back and watch the pirate ships & fireworks too.

Hot tubs are big jetted bath-tubs outside on the Patio area.

Here are some pictures of various rooms from our three trips to TTR, 3 different Temptation Suites and 2 jacuzzi rooms (they moved us around 2 of the 3 trips, so that is why we had 5 different rooms).

    Facebook

The jacuzzi room is the same size as the regular "deluxe" rooms, the difference is having the jacuzzi on the patio and they are all on the first floor around the quiet pool. We have found that the room upgrades are not worth the initial cost to book, there just isn't enough difference to justify the cost. You are better off negotiating an upgrade when you check in, and if you can't get one then it just really isn't that different to take the cheapest room and spend that money doing something else you enjoy.

If something goes wrong in your room, like the shower drain backing up (that happened to us), then insist they upgrade you to a Temptation Suite for your trouble with no additional cost. Those are nice rooms and ocean front, but not really nice enough to justify the several hundred dollars a night more to book in advance.

When we booked our other trips with the jacuzzi room, it was about $50 per night more. If it is super important to have a room on the first floor near the quiet pool, then it would be worth the extra $50 per night for peace of mind. However, paying in advance for a Temptation Suite is WAY over priced for what you get, and not worth the investment. You are better off trying to talk your way into one of those rooms at check in, or if something happens in your initial room and you need to switch rooms.

    Hope this helps....

Deluxe Room – A room with a bed and a shower and places to keep your stuff. Can be anywhere in the hotel. Also known as a ROH (Run of the House) Room. You can be looking at the ocean or parking lot. In the long run, doesn’t matter because when you are there you are missing the party so you’d better be sleeping, changing, showering, or having sex.

Deluxe Ocean – a Deluxe Room that includes the ability to have a least one foot on your patio or balcony and see (leaning over, through the trees, whatever) a speck of blue that is the ocean. You won’t see the parking lot, but that’s about all the assurance you can get. In the long run, doesn’t matter because when you are there you are missing the party so you’d better be sleeping, changing, showering, or having sex.

Jacuzzi Room Pool View – These are Deluxe Rooms that have a Jacuzzi on the balcony for you to use. They do have a privacy screen (think thin window shade) for you to use if you don’t want to see the people watching you. They are all located on the first floor in Building 1 surrounding the Quite Pool.

Temptation Suite – There are four of these on the end caps of Building 1 facing the ocean. They are twice the size of any of the Deluxe Rooms and have a seating area with a sofa and chairs. They are ocean view with large balconies but are hard to keep cool due to their size so if you want a nice cold room every day, maybe not. They are great for in party rooms but remember the A/C and take that into account.

Can't wait to see what the room I booked through the UK site.
Twin room, Private Facillities, and AC. LOL. Maybe it's a 2 stall restroom. I think I can deal with that when I get there. They have sofar honored the room area we requested on Express checkin and again at arrival.
