Has anyone tried the Whale Shark Snorkeling Tour? Believe you pick it up on the Isle of Mujeres. If so how about some pros and cons of the trip? Thanks S & T...........

Never tried it myself but I know you can book transport direct from Cancun without having to go to Isla Mujeres first. May 15 - Sept 20 is the season so it's just starting.
Not cheap though, see link below

Thank you Steve for your response and the website. Appreciate it. Guess maybe I should have asked what drinks go well with whale shark snorkeling and I probably would have gotten more replies.

The whale shark trip was great for me 2 years ago. Rather than leave from Isla mujeres I stayed 3 days on Isla Holbox- very different from Cancun/Isla mujeres. The boat trip to where the whale sharks were was only about 30 mins. We were 6 people, assigned to 3 pairs. In wetsuit, fins and snorkel a pair was dropped off just in front of this massive animal who looked to be still. You had to swim full out just to keep up! After what seemed like forever but was about 5-6 mins the pair returned to the boat, the boat moved in front of the beast again and a different pair was in the water, always with a guide. Each pair had 6 trips in the water. Then we went snorkelling near the coast, lunch, etc. Although in he water for such a short time, we were tired by evening! These are massive and majestic animals. If you have a chance to go- I say do it. I have some pictures but they do not do justice to the experience!
