Anyone else get married or honeymoon in Cancun? We're going to be there Feb 19-25, getting married on the 20th. Woohoo!
Congradulations! How are you setting it up? We had a couple last year that had tried to set it up through the hotel and had a miserable experience setting it up and finally gave up. They got actual married in Texas and had the ceromony on a catarmaran in Cancun. I can't remember the exact particulars but you need to have an officiat of Mexico do it which needs to be arranged in advance.
Our son and dil got married at TTR in April. I thought it turned out great. There were 42 total at the wedding and reception. The ceremony on the beach was very nice, and the reception in the seafood restaurant was excellent. Some of the guests stayed at the Cancun Bay resort next door. The resort gave them a great deal on the day/night pass so they could come to the wedding/reception. They officially got married in the states a few months prior to coming down to Cancun, and I would definitely recommend that.
I have been married in Mexico.........TWICE. Once in Puerto Vallarta (legally by Mexico standards) and once in Playa Del Carmen (ceremony only). My third will be even better!!
We're getting married in the states on 2/14 right before we come and are doing the ceremony down there. We found an officiant that will do it at a public beach for a minimal cost. And we're going to do a private beach dinner through TTR that evening. Can't wait! You guys are the first we've told. It's a secret from EVERYONE we know.
A wedding on a catarmaran now thats a hell of an idea. Steve could probably hook that up wedding on a Boobs Cruise.
